OOC: The following is OOC knowledge only except for O members. i.e. if you're not a member of the underground, you'd have no idea this happened.

Vincent Redfield. 'The Harvester'. Only six or so people in the world knew of his alias, his double life, or at least thats what he thought. Sitting in a dank, fortified cellar at the far end of a huge stone table, Vince rest his head in one hand, and drummed his fingers on the table with the other. Around the table sat various other members of the Covian Underground, dubbed 'The Organization'. At it's head sat Kazuo, the leader and controller of internal affairs. 'The Boss'. Also known as the Trade minister slash Burgher of Cove.

"This will be our most lucrative venture yet" the aging Tokunese man began.
"Administration will be comming along for the ride, I'm told."
Immediately Vince's head shot up. Vince, being the newest addition to the team, had never gotten a chance to see the real heads of the Organization, the ones who gave even Kazuo the orders.
"We'll be holding a meeting with the ministers of Defence from Serpents Hold and N'ujelm. It is there we'll assassinate them."

Directions and orders were finally finished up, and a briefing on the next days mission. Everyone stood and, after donning adequate disguise, began exiting via different doorways. Kazuo stopped Vince.

"This will be a big step for you, Mister Redfield."
Vince stopped, and began grinning.
"Show them what we all know you're capable of. The bosses spoke of a special promotion for you."
Vince didn't stop beaming until he slept that night.

The next day came.

At the N'ujelomian moongate stood three cloaked members of the organization, and Vince. Vince was the only O member without a suitable disguise, most times he just wore a robe.  Kaz was in attendance.  After waiting a sufficient ammount of time past their due date, several cloaked figures, Vince counted six or so, exited from the moongate. One, in prominent red Tokunese garment, greeted Kazuo. Vince said nothing, but had his eyes fixed on this man. It was he who truly led the "O". The party, led by Kazuo, made their way to the Palace.
"This way." One of the cloaked guards from administration said, and took a detour, past the dining hall and down into the basement, and to a small chamber. Kazuo looked confused but said nothing, and noone thought to question this.

Redfield was too affixed on what Kaz had said. A promotion? Really? Finally! Unlike the guardsmen, Vince thought, rank was based on ability! He snickered to himself. He was too late in realizing a giant steel blade was hanging out of his comrade's throat.

One of the stealthy warriors was immediately dead. What the hell was going on? Vince's reactionw as delayed, as he saw the five members of administration leaping upon the two remaining "O" members. Finally, Redfield sprung into action, crushing one of the black-clad warriors skulls into a wall, bone fragments and expensive marbel splintering out. None of the four attacked Vince, but went solely for the other two.

Kazuo, taken off guard, had a shuriken stuck into his leg, and had fallen to one knee on the floor, the 'boss' standing over him.

"You've served your purpose, but now, I'm afraid your contract is being terminated." With a quick thrust, a blue dagger peirced Kazuo's chest, shock and fear in the aged man's eyes, the color from his occulars quickly vanishing as his now lifeless body slumped against the wall, Kasa falling over his face.

The "boss" Clapped once, and the three remaining ninjas lept to his side. The battle was a quick one. All three "O" members were killed in a similar fashion, their necks completely torn out and their blood filling the sealed room. Vince was left unharmed, pain and confusion in his eyes as he looked at the corpse of his old leader, two ninja corpses lying at his feet.

"Mister Redfield.." The boss began. Vince blurted something out, but was cut short. "Don't interrupt me. Also, don't insult me by thinking you won. These are experts...we could have had you killed before you saw your own blood."

With that, six more, similarly dressed ninjas dropped from the ceiling, behind Vince.  Ten on one seemed like crappy odds.

" Don't be alarmed. We left you alive for a reason. You're capable, Redfield...or, 'Harvester' was it? Mmh..Kazuo had a knack for appropriate names. Anyway. We've got a job proposition for you.."

Vince sat at the head of a huge, empty stone table, in what was once Kazuo's chair, marked by a large golden 'K'. Six seats, three on each side, were left empty. Rubbing his chinm eyes somewhat bloodshot, he stood, and sighed...

"Time to start recruiting."

Blackrock is an item used by the Zog Cabal (Remember them? Cheesy), a component used as a regeant to cast the Armageddon spell that would destroy the world. Either by an OSI feckup, or omgooses, a planned event, blackrock started spawning for a short time on all shards. About 10 peices were collected, and sold off for like, tens of millions (if not hundreds). Dunno about casting the spell..ill look into it.
5  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Re: Conan Darkmoons recruit Cadre! For real this time! on: September 13, 2006, 01:45:55 am
In Conan's defense, there was an officer watching, two in fact, Joey and Mela. Most all topics were covered as far as I can tell, and while I must concede it could have been a bit better,  there were definitely at least two, if not more, recruits present. Just my observation.

7  In Character Boards / In Character Board / The Rebel Bagball tournament. on: September 10, 2006, 04:48:36 am
Honestly, I had considered postponing/cancelling the event. Big thank ye t' Vespers Anna Maria Boon, an all the Veeties an Covians alike tha' showed up.

Got off to a rather uneventful start. Me explaining the rules of bagball, sorting out team members, et cetera. Alas! The action kicked in soon enough. The teams were...

Team InVINCEable: Redfield, Recruit Illae, and a mystery Veetie.
Team Carrot: Anna-Maria, Vaughn, mystery barmaid.
Team Ass: Hoagie, mystery men.
Team Tammy: Tammy, veeties.

Shocked at the level of anonymity. Ah well.

OOC: Sorry for the lack of pictures, it's quite late here and I didn't really have time to grab a load during the refereeing. More to come in next tournaments , I promise.
A rough start; Team Ass versus Team Tammy ended with a swift victory for Tammy's team, though all played exceptionally well. This wasn't a sign of things to come, however...

Next was Team InVinceable versus team Carrot....we were swiftly put down. Apparently, m'talent for bagball has faded w'age...*Sigh.*

I worked the tournament with two-strike elimination, allowing for us to still be in the game. No matter, team Tammy did well with eliminating us in a 2-1 victory. Good job to team inVinceable anyway, I suspect we were all a bit too drunk to care.

This left Team Carrot, Tammy with one elimination, and Ass. The results are as follows.

Ass looses to Carrot.
Tammy beats Ass.

This, at least, assured Hoagie's team a valiant third place. For the final round, I allowed single-elimination. The battle raged on for quite some time..I'm pretty sure someone actually died. Kicks, punches, illegal carrying, passing, and diving occoured throughout the entire game (and causes me to need a second ref for next time's tourney..), but here they were RAMPANT! In any event, after a close match...Team Carrot took the victory, and well deserved. Time for prizes, of course...

Team 3, Ass: Beautiful, ancient, dazzling (see: ugly, disgusting, quasi-tasteless) rugs! Woo!

Team one and Two, Tammy and Carrot, I let devide the loot to the tune of one million gold peices. Well deserved on both ends.

Special thanks to the Vesperians who ran the bar, Hoagie for helping me set up, Anna-Maria for inspiring such a large turnout, and everyone who came and participated! I hope you had as much fun as I did.

Some drawings from the event...

8  In Character Boards / Old Events / [COMPLETE] Rebel Bagball Tournament, 8:30 GMT,Saturday 9th of September on: September 08, 2006, 12:24:44 am
Thats right, The revival of the legendary game of bagball! Come one, come all, to the Covian Fields This Saturday!

For those unfamiliar, bagball rules and Do's and Don'ts will be illustrated there. All you need to bring is your team, and, optionally, a team uniform.

"Whats a bagball team consist of, eh?"

Three members in total. Two offence, and one goalie.

"Allright...well what do we do?!"

The rules of the game in simplest form are as such: Three members to a team, one rather heavy bagball. The object is, by dragging the bagball one pace at a time (No running with it!), get the ball from one end of the field to the other, and into your opposing team's goal. First team to five goals wins.

"Well tha's all well and good, but whats in it fer me?!"

Hmph! So fun, and a little bloodsport ain't reward enough, eh...alright. Depending on the turnout, first place team could recieve as much as One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand Gold Peices! And Second and third...mmh. I'll think o'somethin'. But EVERYONE gets something just for showing up! Hope t'see y'there.

*Vince intercepts the letter, being the only Dragoon in the headquarters. Reading it over, he nods, and begins scribbling back, only to deliver it to a messenger.*

'The Dragoons thank you for your help, and appreciate Kasei. However, as Dragoons, we take care of, and subsequently kill, our own.

Reguards,
           Redfield'

*Vince tightenes a gaunlet as he reads the post, and tightly grasps a mace, twirling it for feel.*

This will be a painful task, but it's for the best. Consider Kado dead.
11  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Re: We need recruit's! on: August 30, 2006, 05:36:36 pm
*Vince Groans as he walks by the notes..and adds one of his own*

Recruits are nice, and everyone loves numbers..its what makes an army an army. But as we've all seen, numbers, though important, come second to skill. How many times has five lone Covians taken fifteen Yewians? They do outnumber us, and soon, if you let them, they'll outclass us. Don't let this happen! I speak of this because I'd like to consider myself a decent fighter, and I know others who can fight well, too, will agree. We don't NEED more members...we need stronger members! Start training, start asking for help -- I'm always around, Vlad's a star fighter, Joey's present most of the time -- at one time, one Covian was worth three Yewians skillwise. After the other day's battle, I'm starting to doubt that. I'll stop this rant 'ere, but...what I'm getting at is simple. Quality, Not Quantity.

I dont even know what to say.
Words dont even describe how deeply saddened I am to hear about this, I just heard about it a few moments ago.  Cor was a great guy, I spoke to him in GC/party frequently, and he was just all around cool. He's basically responsible for Vince being a Junior, whenever I needed men for a hunt/parade/etc Cor always came through, he always went along and helped out like the great guy he was. I'm really gunna miss him.

Man, I still can't even believe this happened.
Kal, my deepest condolences to you and your family, my prayers are with you.
