93  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Escorting the Heirs (report) on: May 23, 2007, 05:31:39 pm
Corporal Raziel Richter ordered us into line and said we were to escort him to Trinsic to bring back two Grandsons of the Baron.   Before leaving he suggested we removed our weapons to show we went with peaceful intent so as not to alarm the Trinsic Guardsmen.  Kas made a portal to a moongate where we headed through to Trinsic.  On arrival we passed a group in green armour who I later found out to be Kaldorians.  Pleasentries were exchanged as we moved on towards the city gates.

We passed through the westgate which was quite busy with several people stood nearby and another group of armoured men who I recognised to be the Jhelom Militia were standing further down the road.  Passing these we headed to a park in the center of the city where we found the two heirs.  They seemed to not want to come back to Cove and argued with the Corporal.  Eventually they agreed to come and were promptly gated back to headquarters.

On arrival they met their Grandfather who was quick to appraise them and asked on who their mother was, it seemed she died in childbirth and was some noble from Trinsic. Shortly after the two boys were taken off to be suitably attired as they apparently looked like peasents.

I was suprised I did so well, normally I panic and forget all my spells or to use bandages and just run around in circles.  I look forward to a rematch though.

John Dell and I were given the job of chopping wood.  Taking up our hatchets we headed south into the forest.  I am not so accustomed to chopping wood but John seemed to do very well so I sat watching him for a time and found myself drifting off to sleep.  When I woke John seemed very alarmed and spoke about naked men running through the woods.  I noted it had become very dark so cast a sighting spell on him.  Little known to me was he had a terrible reaction to spells and started having fits of sneezing.  Not knowing what to do I picked up the logs and took them to the barracks, then looked around for some water but couldn't find any.   Eventually he seemed to get over the ordeal and managed to chop some more wood which I took to the barracks.  We gathered around 200 logs.

97  In Character Boards / In Character Board / [Report] Patrol to Altmere on: May 13, 2007, 09:19:44 pm
After the boxing lesson at the Accademy, Recruit Zoie asked if we could be lead on a patrol.  Firstly Guardsmen Dell said he'd take us but was interupted by Junior Delcarakdur who wanted to talk to us first.  When we turned round John had gone, so Watchman Amy took us both instead along with Sergeant Hoagie and Watchman Celuvian.

We started off looking round the Shire when Amy decided we should walk to Altmere instead, the journey there was uneventful and nothing seemed out of place so we headed back.

On our return there had been some trouble, a shadowy figure had attacked Decarakdur so we headed to his aid and almost got the person but he used the shadows to escape.   He attacked again when we were standing near the barracks and managed to injure both Dec and Amy, suffering Dec a wound that needed healers treatment.

98  OOC Boards / OOC Board / Re: I feel that we are lacking a Mage Division ... brainstorming. on: May 13, 2007, 11:48:57 am
Now I've just spent 30 minutes reading through the whole of this thread I can make a comment.
When I first joined I didn't think about divisions or anything like that, but when asked in a drill to shout out what division I wanted to join I just stood there looking dumb and confused.

I agree mages shouldn't become too many and I think it'd be good not to have too many alts within the guild as mages or it'd just be a second class division people join in with just for a few reasons like pwnage in a battle. By this I mean someone as a Grenadier or Dragoon also having a mage.

I'd be happy to take up a weapon skill if need be as I like the idea of battlemages not so sure about the pointy hats.  I think that'd just be like putting a banner above our heads in battles and saying here I am, target me first please.

Firstly I think all us mages should get together and put in some practise work, learn how to work together in battles with different scenerios occuring.  Maybe come up with a few rp parameters that could be used to develop a division.

I might come up with more later.
99  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Sentry Duty (Report) on: May 10, 2007, 06:54:47 pm
Today was my first day on full duty and I think it started off well.   I attended the sentry post and was set to work gathering hides with fellow Recruit Zoie.  Whilst we were gathering hides a Troll appeared from behind the trees, we both put up a good fight and soon had it wishing it hadn't messed with us.

Back at the sentry I asked Guardsman Jack what doing Sentry involved and what we might have to do.

We had to look out for people coming close to the sentry and judge if they were friend or foe.

After finding out we could be stood around for half an hour I thought I'd beeter get a comfortable standing so my feet didn't ache too much.

It began to seem as though our duty would be uneventful but a few minutes later and a figure approached us from the shadows, wearing a robe and looking sinister.  He began to threaten us and ask for our gold so he was obviously a brigand, either very brave or very stupid to try and take on four armed Guardsmen.

He opened fire on me and I tried to dodge his attack whilst the other two recruits gave chase, I fumbled with my bandages and forgot all about my spells.  Then I gathered my senses as the other two came back and we stood guard waiting for the man to reappear.  Then the chase was on and I managed to stop the man in his tracks long enough for Sergeant Hoagie to deliver a deadly blow with his sword.  That and my fire blast brought the man to the ground.  We waited a little for him to get up but it didn't look like it would happen so we left him alone to his own fate.

Not long after our sentry time was over so it was time to pack everything away, there was a patrol taking place after but I was already too tired to attend.
