50  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Political Mission to Magincia on: June 16, 2005, 07:03:21 am
Our Foreign Minister Edward Richter informed us he required an escort on a journey of some importance to Magincia.

15-06-05
Led by - Regular Grenadier Ryan Greystone
* LC Sergeant Althalas
* Watchman Senaria Deveiant
* Watchman Moon
* Recruit Nashiem De'Monti
* Recruit Marie Le Blanc
* Recruit Indrid Cold
* Recruit Cor'Ari Ta
Accompanied by Squire Mikael

After the Minister makin his announcement outta the blue on the steps at the barracks Regular Ryan took control barkin orders to be gettin' in formation.

T'was a handy thing we had Recruit Senaria with us as she was able to open up a portal to take us to Magincia, which I have to say I was'n half pleased about as I'd been patrollin all day.

On arrival at Magincia around the bank area it was made obvious we weren't all that ready for a formal display of the militia with all sorts of assorted weapons wavin in the air.

The foriegn minister took charge 'n told Regular Ryan to sort somethin' out, obviously he was tryin to make a good impression on these Magincian people, after a short time Regular Ryan returned with appropriate attire for all. We all took our "display" weapons, those that needed one, and I have to admit we did look mighty fine. Just in time too! There was some fellow in mighty odd lookin sandals turned up to greet us. Him n Richter went through a few cordial hello's n how d'ya do's afore the fella said we was waitin' on someone else too. the Magincian Foriegn minister I think she was.

Anyways was'n too long afore she arrived 'n I have to say she was'n half bad, at all that pleasantry stuff.

We was led away towards their meetin' hall I think it was. The fella with the odd sandals got us all some food 'n water which most of us were pretty darn grateful for after all this time I gots ta admit. Three of us were posted guard outside the buildin' but I was pretty lucky, or unlucky dependin' on yer point o' view! I was posted upstairs on the balcony so as I could keep a watchin further afield. This also meant I was able to listen in a little on the talkin goin' on in the meetin hall.

Seems from what I 'eard that the Magincians 'ave some trouble with Umbra Necromancers! Foul things they are. They was askin' for the use of our forces in exchange for payment and food which they says they have lots of. I gotta say that Magincia place was pretty posh lookin I reckon they gots a lotta money. Anyways ye .. so Richter n that Foriegn minister chatted 'n bartered back 'n forth a bit, then the Squire Pipes up with talkin's of how the Church would be very interested in helpin cos of the Necro's being so evil 'n that. I have to say that Squire can't half talk.

Well the meetin' was drawn to a close after a whole lotta talkin about alliances n such like but I think they said they forgot their bits o' paper to sign of sumthin'.

Then Richter told the Magincians they was invited to come to Cove n meet the Baron to sign the papers 'n discuss it further. We were then all led off for some sorta viewing of the Barracks round Magincia ... I gots to say it was a nice 'n clean place ... a bit too clean in my view. Didn'y look like it was even used all that much, I don't think them fellas have much of an army.

At the end of our tour it was noticed Recruit Senaria had left earlier afta an urgent pidgeon so we 'ad to wait fer some other fella to turn up so as 'e could open another o' them portal things to take us home.

We gots home, an' all 'n all it went pretty uneventful. Seemed like quite nice people, clean 'n polite 'n they did give us food 'n all.

Let's hope I get to go again next time cos it was an easy duty 'n I never say no te free food.

Edward Richter seemed pleased enough at the outcome of all the politicalness an' I think even Squire Mikael's worries were put to rest as the Magincians seemed like church goin' folk.

When all was done 'n we was dismissed, Regular Grenadier Ryan announced Boom box was to start in Fifteen minutes. Goodness that was a blast......

The "Bunker" could be used for many uses.

Including meetings held further away from base (maybe in more plain or guild colours) Or could be used as a mobile command base for strategies etc from the Commander on major campaigns.

Im sure theres a lot of uses and fun things can be done. The theory is there whatever its use is.

I helped Hemisphere make a pretty neat Bunker the other day in Brit.. and i coloured it Camo an stuff.. looked awesome.

Would be pretty neat for far away campaigns against other guilds particularly (or orc guilds etc) to have an Engineers division. The Division would only comprise a Chief engineer and a few Engineers well drilled in the errection and dismantling of the bunker. they need to be magic users, or at least some of them. In order to create the roof. Which is a proper roof above the characters heads.

Heres a few screenshots of the one we errected in Brit. And i called a couple LB and they thought it was a pretty neat idea and tried to pidgeon some BoC (i wasn't in guild at the time) but noone was available. It can be errected in about 10 minutes i reckon but we wouldn't really know unless we gave it a bash.

Training Patrol Around the Barracks and surrounds.

Lead and consisting of :- Guardsman Recruit, Nashiem De'Monti

At around Midday after finding a recruit and bringin 'im to the barracks for Tiberius to enlist I decided to go for a patrol around the surrounds to ensure the citizens were safe from Brigands and the like.

Not far from base I came accross Gorthak Of the House of Falconberg. He barked out a challenge and proceeded to tell me I was tresspassing and these lands belonged to the House of Falconberg. To which I replied his annex was illegal and that I hoped he planned to back his claims up with might!

He accepted my challenge and once engaged the first blow left him reeling. Upon realising his peril he made a break for it. Pursued almost halfway to the graveyard I finally felled him with another series of blows having taken a few myself.

After ensuring the blighter wasn't permanently dead I re-instated my Claims that the House annex was illegal and there was to be no more of it!. He mumbled a few choice utterings and stumbled off. Somehow I don't think he still agrees with the Baron's rights now that hes outta sight. Ill be keepin my eye out for this one again.
