1  In Character Boards / In Character Board / A tangle with Spider people on: October 09, 2018, 04:31:26 pm
Led by Regular Scout Leanne

Attended by

Watchman Hope
Guardsman Recruit Estelwen

Accompanied by

Someone from Magencia

Leanne does not like spiders. I do not like spiders and we agreed spiders are just as bad as Drow. - Although by personal experience I think Drow are somewhat worse. Hope opened a portal from my runebook to a place where the armies of Teraphans are at war with Ophidians. Snakepeople against Spider people, both abominations of nature and deserving to die but we took our fight to the one side and battled against those that we disliked most. The Ophidians had entrenched themselves in a complex maze of corridors and caves through which we battled and found ourselves lost a few times.

Despite our few numbers we fought well, except the tiger which the Magencian brought in hopes to impress us. - it was not very impressive seeing it die so easily. When Leanne felt we had gone as far as we needed to we made our way back out again and back to Cove. Our bags full of gold and Leanne missing a finger.

These did not seem to stick to the board properly when I first tried.

Today Sergio and I were talking about the roles of Scouts and I mentioned my interest in learning some of the methods ninjas use when attacking their foe. I saw these tactics first hand when I accompanied Commander Hoagie on his patrol to scalp the snow witch. He told me that if I wished to learn their ways then I would have to steal one of their manuals or at least take it from a dead one.

We set off to Isuma Jima and began following the path northwards protecting ourselves from the strange creatures we met along the way. The ninjai remained in the shadows probably watching our every movement as we progressed onwards. Eventually one attacked us as we stood talking thinking to take us unaware but we were swift in response and soon had it down where I was able to remove its manual.

Sergio continued talking about the ways of Scouts as we returned home and I promised to study the manual well and take onboard what he had said to me.

5  Guardsman Boards / Recruit Duties / Re: Recruit Duty ~ Bashing The Brutes on: August 26, 2018, 03:57:00 pm
Led by: Guardsman Recruit Estelwen
Attended by: Watchman Aralin Erocea.

After the sentry Aralin suggested I led a patrol to the graveyard as I mentioned seeing it was active she then checked and saw this duty instead and explained to me about Guardsmen Duties and how I would be required to do them if nothing was organised.

I thought the idea was a little crazy but went along with it. We arrived at the Orc fort and slowly fought our way through it bringing down the huge Orc brutes one at a time and hauling the required ore back to the mountainside.

We worked well together as I attacked the smaller Orcs and Aralin targeted the larger one which could hit very hard as I found out when I got too close. Our careful plan worked as we managed to gather the needed ore. Aralin retrieved a packhorse to help us carry it back to the Barracks.

On arriving at Cove on my first day I was set upon by a group of guardsmen who all seemed to be intrigued about my being a female elf. It was not until later that the Scout Sergio explained my predicament of being what I am. It seemed I would only need to learn some arcane abilities to make matters worse, I said to him that was tempting but none of my family have ever had those abilities.

After the conversation of which it seems I have sealed my fate I mentioned about gaining some strength. Wood-chopping came the reply and then we shall construct a sentry. I was unsure what a sentry was and went about chopping wood and bringing it back until I was asked to gather hides instead. These were used together to construct some sort of barrier around the entrance of the Barracks. We then stood inside as the rather short Watchman attempted to be a door. I believe I could easily step over her or anyone else that came by. The Scout explained to me what a Sentry was before he headed off to bed.
