As I was running about ten minutes late, Jenifer was nice enough to get the patrol underway. I quickly met up with them as they approached the Altmere Outpost. We stumbled across some shabbily created barricades. As we checked through the outpost, after tearing down the unsactioned barricades, we found some provisions hinting that someone was using the outpost as a camp. We showed our spirit by placing a large banner on the roof of the outpost, to show who really controls the Altmere area! As we worked our way farther down the road, ran ran into even more resistance. Coming upon more makeshift barricades, this one being manned by a common looking man with a crossbow. He accused us of invading the Altmere land, and I quickly assured him that the Covian Guardsmen were there to help, and secure the roads through Altmere, but he kept on his rant about us being invading forces.
Keeping with our mission, not fearful of the lone man's threats we moved on further into the territory, where we found even more resistance, in numbers of at least five armed men and women, ready to die for their cause. They were using hideous tactics to try and get the best of us, using traps, trip wires, bombs and more! This militia of forces is clearly under supplied but well organised and willing to fight to the end for the land. As we passed the Crossroad, we fell into a large trap, where several fire bombs went off, and many of these men and women attacked. We gathered up and was able to drop about two of hem before the res scrambled, and were lost into he woods.
I suggest the utmost caution while entering the Altmere area for any reason. It is possible that any area of the road toward the swamp may be trapped by these gorilla style fighters. These fighters are very cunning in the ways of using the environment against us.
After the main attack, disrupting their forces we staggered onto the last leg our my Mission, trudging through the vile swamp. It did not take us long to make it through the entire swamp where we cleared the area of the vile, stinking creature inhabiting it. Bringing back as many coins as we could carry. I hope that I can get the maps as needed to be done very soon, I will have the posted up as quickly as possible.
