Ok, so, since returning to UO I've noticed

a) Brit Bank seems dead

b) There's a lot less vendors about, with shitty stock

c) No big guilds that do hunts, and the gauntlet etc.

I love RP, but I also enjoy a relatively pimped out character that I can chat with normally, and explore the other higher level aspects of the game. Are there any guilds that actually do this anymore?

Should we create our own, for BoC members' non-BoC alts?

Me and Hoagie have chars in LUV.. its a nice guild.

It would be cool to have such a guild for BoC members. It would make some good commercial if big enough!

On one hand I love the idea, specially if I make a non-RP type on Europa. I would be able to ammas the wealth (quicker than in the RP realms) and hang with all my covian chums that I havnt hung with in like 6 months!!! >.<;; gah this desert sucks, i cant get my stuff to patch, and old ultima renaisance doesnt wrk anymore!!

On the other hand, does this not subtract from the RP?? I mean if we are bussy PKing shite then we arnt RPing.... I'm jsut saying it casue I'm waiting for some stickler in high command to drop the hammer. Hamma Down now!!

I would say, if we all want to be abuncha champspawn rollaz then we aught to be called the PWNERSHIP OF COVE, hear hear! and all be in the same durneded PWNAGE guild see??  But what is this primal urge we must feed that requires us to dominate all life... or see it stompped to dust beneath our jak-boots? Must be the urge that the Baron has everyday upon surveying his domain!! Or maybe the Yew filth and their sheep??

I've often thought of making a Guild for these reasons and for my tamer to have others around to hunt with.  I wouldn't want to distract from any rp event though but it would be good for joining in those events that occur where our normal rp chars will just be obliterated.

Someone make such a guild!

I'd be willing to start up such but sadly, I cannot connect here in the sand box >.< though I'm trying abit of something Qom gave to me. Cros your fingers and another bit of cannonfodder will rejoin the ranks!!

It's not meant to detract from RP: but I for one don't just RP, I play UO as a game too. So if there's enough support, maybe we could try it, but if not we can always just hunt together with our non-RP characters.

I think if a lot of us are in a Non-RP guild where we're all equal, it might make RPing authority more difficult. If you're used to playing as equal friends, I think it will detract from the respect and distance you're supposed to maintain with higher ranks in BoC..

We're all equal OOC in BoC anyway. And we all aim to have fun with each other. It's not that hard if you can level the difference between role playing and reality.

This could be an 'incognito' type guild - no one knows who's the BoC-player behind the chars of the new guild. :P

Aye, but like Jack said, I don't feel like anyone "outranks" me in RL from BoC. Whilst I respect those who have more responsibilities and so on, I still wouldn't be "Yes sir, right away sir" if I met the Baron in the street RL ;)

Yes, we're all equal in RL and OOC and that doesn't cause a problem RPing inequality. But most of us don't know each other all that well outside of our characters in BoC. So it's much easier to roleplay the distance, respect, and authority that BoC demands between the ranks. If we all suddenly play the game together as equals and get used to that and get to know each other's *real* personalities too much, I think it'll make RPing a strict army heirarchy harder, or at least would detract from it.

For some reason, I fear that the purity and strict division between the ranks would be lost if we had another OOC guild; not to mention encouraging people to play on those characters a lot more than their BoC ones.

The main thing which makes BoC as great as it is, are the rules and clearly stated hierarchy, so everyone knows who's one's supervisor and such. This eases following the rules etc etc.

If such OOC guild will be created, all of us would be equal in their ranks. Adding this to possibility of using every item/skill/spell the game provides, could create some mayhem.

Also the incognito idea has a nice advantage: You won't be able to put your IC/OOC dislikes into the guild and taking sweet revenge. The problem is that most of people well know the OOC chars of certain players, not to mention that many people listed their additional chars on the forums.

I don't see what the problem is.  If you can't continue to RP being a lower rank than someone just cause you get on with them OCC just boils down to poor roleplaying.  From what I've heard several of the BoC guild members have met IRL and I'm sure that hasn't stopped them continuing to play how they do.

I think everyone should put down their weapons and become citizens, free to partake in a comfortable lifestyle featuring such joys as tree chopping, seasonal dances and trade caravans.
