OOC Boards / OOC Board / Mass

So tell me about mass. What do you like? What do you dislike?
In my view mass should be a serious matter IC and very strict like no chatting during a service. However of course I understand that for the player to sit there for half an hour doing nothing is of course boring for the guards that sit there and for the monks/templars that stand around. That is why I think mass should involve more players rping.
An example is:- We have a hymn. Everyone is singing. One guardsmen decides to be silly and sings in a high pitch voice. Suddenly the song stops and the templars grab the offended guardsman and lock him in a room. Of course all sorts of RP can happen from this, especially amusing types such as today when noisey guards were locked in a room during mass then tried to break out.
My view is IC mass should be a serious matter but OOC we should all be having fun and laughing at the hysterics going on of noisey guardsmen running out of the church or singing hyms in high-pitched voices.

OOC Boards / OOC Board / The BoC 'village'.
|
on: May 08, 2005, 01:56:55 pm

The BoC village (does it have a name?) consists of numerous houses including the barracks, church, player houses, brewery and so forth. However to me it does not feel like a village. There is no sense of unity amongst the individual buildings except for the same sign hanger outside every building. It feels like a collection of houses. No character or atmosphere overall. Indeed the individual buildings have their own atmosphere such as the church and barracks but overall as a village there is not since the next building is so radically different to the next in terms of its theme (walls used etc). Perhaps it would be a good idea to have all buildings have the same wall styles used? A sort of recurring theme throughout.

In Character Boards / In Character Board / The cleansing of a witch
|

The cleansing of a witchAelthas LeCruix entered the small dimly lit room located at the bottom of the barracks. He looked around. It was perfect for what he had in mind. He glanced towards the table in front of him.
"Excellent" he thought to himself. "The work of the Lord shall indeed be done tonight". And with that he placed his ringmail armored hands upon a smith tong and placed it into the forge then turned round to collect the witch.
Closing the door behind him, he walked over to the cell and keeping his distance, peered into it. There she sat sobbing and upset. A 'witch'. "I am no witch" she cried out but it was ignored. "Witch it is time to be cleansed!" Aelthas said without emotion. She screamed. He flung the jail door open and in an instant grabbed her by her pony tail and harshly dragged her, caring not what damage was done to her, to the 'tortue room'.
The cold stone chair sat on its own in the corner. He pushed her onto it and she went face first into the back, bashing her face. He grabbed her, tied up her. Struggling was of no use, the ropes were tight.
"Today! As I wear witness! Thou witch shallt be cleansed in the name of the Lord" he said in his glorified shout.
He walked over to the forge and gripped the tongs laying in it by the cold end and pulled them out slowly.
Walking over to the right side of the witch he put the tongs in front of her face, the red hot glowing light illuminating her face. The burning she could feel on her face. It was obvious what was next.
"Witch repent!" he roared and with that thrusted the tongs into her right cheek, holding them hard and steady into her face. Burning flesh could be smelt. The smell most foul and the look upon her agonised face most anguishing. Yet he did not flinch or think of anything but the cleansing of this vile witch.
"AAhhhhhhhhh!". The screamed. Tears of pain coming out from her eyes.
So what if she was in pain. Aelthas cared not and demanded she remain silent. He hit her across the jaw with the tongs.
The doors flew open. In ran three figures in strange clothes and masks, hissing. "What is this!' Aelthas shouted.
Obviously vile fiends of the guardian coming to save the witch. They would not get what they wanted easily. "In the name of the Lord!" Aelthas shouted, grabbing the hilt of his sword and drawing it.
The fiends hissed under their mask, their stances ready to attack.
They went to release the witch. Such can not be done. What started to be cleansed must be finished.
Aelthas charged at them. Sword met steel. It was three against one. Aelthas as fighting two of them and had his eye on them but where was the other. He felt a large thump on his head and fell down unconcious.
A while later he came to. Opening his eyes slowly, then jumping up remembering what had been going on. The room. It was empty. The chair, empty.
He looked at the chair. "The Lord shall hunt thee down witch" he muttered to himself. The church always succeeds, never fails. This witch will be found again and this time burned, not cleansed.

In Character Boards / In Character Board / *A head is placed outside the barracks on a stake with a poster*
|
on: April 03, 2005, 03:40:03 pm
|
* A bloody head of a woman is staked outside the barracks with a cut mouth and thorns hanging out. The message below it reads....
This infidel dared speak against the church and question its methods and ways. Due to the words that came out of its vile mouth, it was forced to feed upon thorns to prick its vile tongue then slaughtered like the vermin it is. Its head lays here as a remainder to those who dare speak against the church and its followers in the future. Let the Lord hope that thou dost not follow the same path...lest thou face the consequences and fate of this infidel.
There is a signature at the bottom in italics saying Aelthas LeCruix*
