2  Element boards / Completed Citizen Tasks / Re: Winter's Drawing In on: November 09, 2008, 05:02:57 pm
[Delsa flies towards the Barracks at top speed, almost bashing straight into the walls of the Church! She ducks into the alley between the Church and the Tavern, sliding on the semi-frosted grass.

Miss Wineblotch skids to a stop just before the steps of the Barracks, completely out of breath with hands pressed onto her knees.

After collecting enough breath to shout, she yells,
'Ah go' th'Capes, ye sissies!'

Hearing no response, Delsa span on the spot, looking in all directions.
Seeing no one to take her bag of capes, Delsa trudged home to find Regular Scout Drachir, who would surely take the capes.]

Upon arrival after a tough fight against a wandering band of undead, my doorstep was littered with a bag of capes, a note, and this sketch.
As Delsa can't write very well, I have been requested to write this for her.

According to the note Delsa has left me, which took over an hour to decipher as her handwriting is so poor, she has moved back to Cove after being thrown out by her previous Landlord. Delsa is now living on the 1st floor of my abode, as I rarely spend a night at home.

Her first port of call was the Citizens Board, as she wanted to get to work right away. When seeing that the Covian soldiers required winter capes, she jumped to the task in minutes!
Apparently, according to the note, Delsa had learnt many valuable tailoring lessons whilst living away from Cove, and the note exclaims that the Capes are the finest she's ever made!
I must say I have tried one of them on myself and it was as if I was sitting beside a warm fire!
In the note, Delsa also apologizes for the lateness of the capes and she realises that Winter has already hit us hard. As a repayment for the lateness, Delsa has made the capes in two different types of cloth. A brown, thicker cloth for the main bulk of the army, and a greenish, lighter cloth for the Scouts.

Please ask me for the bag of capes, as they are currently in my possession.

4  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Escaflowne's Weekly Training! on: November 05, 2008, 10:43:25 pm
[...As Drachir shuffled his feet towards the Swaggers after a tough battle against the undead scum of the Graveyard, he comes across a small group of soldiers. Drachir then remembers about the weekly training that he had been told about a few nights before.

Drachir sighed, knowing he would be getting a good night's sleep tonight...]

After both the Cove and Vesperian attendees had greeted one another and after a number of jokes towards Hoagie (who was not there at this time) had been told, it was decided that Cove itself would be a suitable location for this week's training and all that were attending were quickly shoved through one of those magic gate thingies and before our eyes, the wonderful city of Cove emerged.

Once the group had reached Cove, we were instructed to march to the lush fields of Cove!
'Aha!' I thought. 'This week Escaflowne will be teaching us all about maintaining the standard of living for cities such as Cove, with some vegetable growth lessons!'
I was sharply proved wrong as Escaflowne bellows,
'3 vs. 3 vs. 3 vs. 3!' This was then followed by a number of short, but fun-packed, rounds of team training.

Commander Escaflowne allowed the group to catch their breath and moved swiftly onto the main event!

Capture The Flag!

The rules were simple: Two teams, two bases, two flags. The team to move the opposing team's flag to their own base wins.
Excitement was seen on the faces of every man (and lass).
Let the battle commense!

Once two tiring defeats in Capture The Flag had ceased, a final excersise was to be completed - Last Man Standing!
Unfortunately, because of the 'no hiding' rule, I refuse to do any sketches for the last man standing! So there! However, I can tell you that the victor was....errm....

Covian Attendees:
Commander Morana
Sergeant Hoagie
Regular Scout Drachir,
Regular Grenadier Takeamada
Recruit Mohamed Tereas
Recruit Synara Kahn

(apologies to anyone I have missed)

5  OOC Boards / OOC Board / I'm back (Again again again) on: November 05, 2008, 07:27:23 pm
For the millionth time I have returned to Cove!

*waits for cheering...*

So anyway! I'm back, and I should be back for good! Although I don't want to jinx it, so I'm not going to promise anything.
Upon return, I have forgotten my ICQ password and email account, so I've created a new one which is:
418-122-978, so if y'all could add me that would be brilliant!

I'm also in need of a house! Although I have a small 7x7ish house far south, I would prefer something closer, so if anyone is looking at finding a new owner to their Covian abode, just give me a shout!

I should be in game pretty much every evening and if not I'll most definitely have the boards tabbed in the ol' Firefox!

I'm also gonna try and bring a bit of excitement to the Light Company! I'm gonna do my very best to make it bigger, better and more FUN so it can regain its title of
'Most Wicked Awesome Company Ever To Be Created By BoC Members!'

Hope everyone is fine 'n dandy, dandy 'n fine, and I'll see you all in game!

Laters!

"Drachir's Humble Abode" unfortunately, has to go..

Its the plot directly below the Tavern, an excellent spot for any avid BoCian.
With it you'll get all the deco. items, that includes the lamposts, the fireplace, the peach tree and the hanging swords.

If anybody is interested in this, please ICQ me at 271-104-323, or email/msn me at cats.ate.her.face@hotmail.com

Thanks!

An excellent report, Recruit! Your sketches are coming along nicely!

Was a shame the adventurers had got there before us, but we did scrape up a good amount of coins inspite of this!

9  In Character Boards / Old Events / The Coffers Are Getting Low! Tonight Friday 12th! 7:30pm GMT! on: October 12, 2007, 10:23:28 am
What:
We shall be going on a hunt to the dungeon Destard!

When:
Tonight! Half past the Seventh hour!

Where:
We shall rally outside the Barracks to begin with, then we shall use one of them runebook things to get us to the Dungeon!

Description:
I had a wonder around the Barracks the other night, and checked the supplies in the supply room. I caught a glipse of the stack of coins that is the Army Coffers, and noticed how terribly low the pile looked!
Either someone's been pinching coins, or we don't do enough to keep them stacked up!
According to a reliable source, the dungeon of Destard is rich with jewelry and coins, so we shall head there!

10  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Military Mining Expedition! on: October 10, 2007, 11:04:36 pm
Military Mining - Tuesday 09/10/07

Leading:
Amon Jarl, Burgher
Kelly Valentine, Scout Corporal

In attendance:
Drachir, Regular Scout
Kal Shadowhand, Regular Scout
Flina Trix, Junior Dragoon
Falconheart, Junior Grenadier
Edmund Rufus, Junior Scout
Ihinar Tel'var, Junior Grenadier
Graem Carcer, Watchman

..Drachir had slept most of the day after the exhausting mining trip he'd taken part in the night before. He awoke at around the tenth hour, in the evening, patrolled the shire, and then sat down at his desk to start on the report of the mining expedition..

A few of us had just finished a training that had been lead by our very own Corporal Kelly Valentine. We'd all been warmed up, and it was time for us to set off on our trip! Oddly, we were ordered to rally outside the Townhall, however we all accepted this and ran towards the Townhall.
A man who I had not had the pleasure of meeting stood outside on the steps, looking somewhat nervous, yet eager to speak up. He introduced himself as Amon Jarl, Burgher of the Covian Citizenry. He then selected Ms. Valentine to lead the party of Guardsman, and for some unknown reason selected the Watchman to do some mining.

To our delight, Mr. Jarl had learnt a slight bit of wytchcraft before the trip, and was able to create one of those mysterious portals, which took us straight to the entrance of the mines! We spent no time dilly-dallying around outside, we were straight into the mines, and started on our journey into the dark caverns of the Orc Mines..
..And Orc Mines they were indeed! Thousands of 'em! We walked around about fifty bends, and around each of them was double the amount of Orcs! Some of them had helmets, some of them carried potions that they decided to throw, it was most perculiar. It was nothing like what you would find in the Orc Fort south of Cove. Infact, the Orcs inside the mine had even attempted to build some kind of a Fort, but had failed to do so as the walls of the mines prevented them from making a complete wall.
As we ventured further and further into the unknown, we came across some forges.
"Aha!" Exclaimed Mr. Jarl. "We're getting close!" He continued. A sigh of relief could be heard from the guardsman, as the travel could be felt in everyones' feet.

We finally came to a room with a large...wooden thingy in the middle, of no real purpose. However, it seemed like a perfect place for the Burgher to sit, whilst the Watchman set about his work, and the rest of the guardsmen spent their time in the caves killing the giant Brutes who carried a large amount of Shadow Iron Ore, which was the reason our party had ventured so deep in the first place.

Mr. Jarl decided that around five hundred shadow iron ore particles would suffice for the trip, and so once we reached that target we all ran towards the middle, and lined up ready to go home! Mr. Amon Jarl again created a crazy portal that somehow got us all the way back to the Barracks!

We managed to scrape up a whopping twenty-six thousand coins for the guardsmen and the Coffers! Ms. Valentine shared out part of the gold to the guardsmen, and kept the rest for the Coffers.
19000 for the Coffers. Drachir: 2000 Shadowhand: 2000 to the Scout Coffers

Every one of us looked almost dead, Mr. Jarl said his thankyous and farewells, and then Ms. Valentine said that we'd be going to Yew to wash!?
"This is madness!" I thought to myself, and departed at this point to start on the report! In all, the trip was interesting, and the protection of Mr. Jarl was as easy as annoying Sergeant Hoagie!

I didn't get to roleplay with you much, but I can see how much of an impact you've had on the upkeep of BoC.

Best wishes with everything and I hope you do come back one day! If just to say hello to Miss Wineblotch! Cheesy

What?
A Recruit Cadre is what!

When?
Half past the eighth hour on the Seventh day!

Where?
The Recruit Cadre shall commence on the top of the Barracks, in the arena.

Description
I've seen alot of new recruits wandering about. Which is no good at all!. Recruits should not be wandering about, they should be patrolling the shire, fighting off villainous brigands or ogres!

I shall be leading a Recruit Cadre for half an hour. Any Recruit big or small may attend this Cadre as it will teach you some vital lessons in surviving in the Covian Army.
Plus, it is a must if you want to be promoted.

So don't be late Recruits, and remember to bring ye kit! (Bandages, Bedroll, Lightsource, Parade arm etc.)
