1  In Character Boards / In Character Board / Secrets and Justice...... on: June 17, 2008, 11:46:39 am
Astounded and confused are to name but two of the emotions that fill my days since reaching Cove. Many months have passed since my aging father begged of me to set forth and finally discover what became of my beloved older sister Merril.
The apple of my fathers eye, a victim to her own vulnerability, any fool knows that Merril is either gone on to the after life or she is a brainwashed slave to a man we now all fear and loathe.
It saddens me greatly that it was Merril’s kidnap 4 years ago this new summer that led to the early demise of our mother. Gentle Genevieve, younger than Father, she who lowered her rank to marry for love and raise her two daughters to be good citizens of Jhelom.
My blood boils and I rage inside at how my family were taken in by the handsome visiting member of Covian nobility…Tall , proud and enchanting, he fooled us ,charming us with brave tales of wars, himself always the victor, portraying good against bad. Worshipping My Lord Avatar along with my family, sharing our home and food, my parents soon hoped for a promise of marriage for Merril, life felt good.
Alas it was not to be! This dastardly rogue stole my sister in the night, she only in her 17th year……we heard song nor tale of her until a travelling man with shining stars around his hat told Father he  should travel to Cove and recover his daughter be it body or remains……..Too ill to do so, My father beseeched of me once I was of the age of 17 to search for Merril and bring her home……Only for a beloved sister would I have faced the dangers and hardships I have these past times.Working and at times begging my way along roads and over treacherous seas I have met every extreme of the human race. My heart feels heavy and hardened, everyone is a potential threat and enemy….
Confusion takes me that after much questioning and listening here in Cove , no-one has heard of Lord Trewallean, and I have certainly not seen or heard anything to confirm he was indeed even from Cove.
The Covian people seem for the most trustworthy, but they cannot have my secret yet, for if Lord Trewallean does reside here……justice shall be served……

After many hardships, perils and miles, these past weeks since arriving in Cove have seen me gain strength and confidence in my quest.

At Market I per chance overheard a conversation that the bookcases of the Baron himself needed cleaning!! A chance to pursue my quest for the truth could not be overlooked....no matter how dangerous....

My services were gratefully accepted and I set about the task at hand...

Books were scattered and discarded everwhere, maps spilling from the boxes on top of tables. The dust was thick and irritated my skin giving me an unsightly itchy rash, making me cough as it billowed off the books on the shelves. Many tomes and scrolls were in desperate need of repair.....I stacked and sorted and cleaned..ever vigilant of news of my beloved sister Merril...

Then...Eureka!! On a thin roll of parchment...a journal....the information I was looking for!! Hardly able to control my trembling fingers(due to excitement and fear I would be discovered), I skillfully removed the pages containing the proof I needed to secure my future.....and hid them in the folds of my skirt. My heart was beating wildly in my throat with fear I would be discovered by a passing guardsman.....

Quickly stacking the remaining books I finished the task, trying to breathe easily and calmly......needing to hurry back to my lodgings with my precious discovery. What would the parchment reveal.....Lord Avatar only knows
3  Element boards / Citizen Task Board / Re: Harvesting The Crops on: June 12, 2008, 07:49:48 pm
After resting for two days after my arrival in Cove I put my mind to helping out the good citizens who had shown me such kindness. Being the daughter of a market gardener I put my childhood skills to good use. After a hearty breakfast I set about pulling up carrots and onions by the bushel. The weather has been good and most crops were ripe. The cabbages were particularly fine. I cleaned and trimmed these in the way shown by my father and his father before him. Some leaves were nibbled by rabbits; I only wish I had set traps early that day, the meat would have been excellent with the vegetables in a hearty stew.
At mid-day I collected apple baskets from the market stores and filled them with juicy apples and pears. My arms ached and my back was sore, but I consider I did a good days work with fine results.

I presented the harvest to Amon Jarl, who was exceedingly pleased at my efforts.
Unfortunately my shy nature prevented me from sharing much conversation with this fine Lord, but his praises were joyfully accepted.
