Watchman Delferium had us going to the graveyard to keep the deadies in check.


The deadies was no match for Covian steel and magery so we waded through the bone piles from the skeletons and zombies we slayed.



After killing the last liche with no sign of any more Watchman Delferium had us retreat in a fashionable order.


Finally back at the Barracks we counted the loot.

Having nothing better to do Watchman Delferium took me and Helbrass to practice sentry building. The more we do that the better we get as in any trainig we have. It is always good to do it with few men availible. Make us more effective.


As Helbrass killed the local wildlife for hides i had the easier job to chop away at the trees to get logs. To make it faster and easier to carry i simply made the logs into boards before dropping them for Watchman Delferium to use. Quite fast we had a functional sentry ready.




We practiced how to meet visitors as the watchman pretended to be one. But he came from inside the town instead from the outside, with a Bone Harvester in hand and a bear on his head. All was interrupted as we had a real visitor. One with a strange armour and shield. Something i was used to see in Trinsic but not in Cove.


After we had spoken to him Recruit Helbrass escorted him to the tavern where i later saw him talking With Sergeant Hoagie Grayner. The Sergeant was smart and left soon after i came and i stayed for a chat with this fella i soon realised was a real nut. Talking about the Darkness that was back and all. The Dark Army or something. I simply told him we knew all about it. It was in Yew and had been for a long time. The fella seemed rather disturbed by how things was here in Cove. Why i have no idea.

Sergeant Hoagie had us lining up for the late training.


As always we did the warm up that started with Pushups and situps, followed by some laps.


Torrak was hit by an imaginary arrow and Celuvian had to make two laps with him slumped over his shoulder. Thankfully i could just stand and jog at the place.


The training was concluded with a free for all that i was both surprised and pleased that i was the only one standing up when it was over.

Today's training started as usual with us doing some pushups and ten laps as well as the basics in maneuvering.

Then it was time for the check up of light source and bandages.

Most of us had the required light source but those who didn't got a nice scorning.

My nose started to bleed in one of the trainings we had this day. Thsnkfully it wasn't broken, yet again.


One recruit was unlucky or unskilled enough to be floored by Recruit Jane. She's very skilled that lass i have to say.


We finished it all with a free for one that ended with Captain Morana as the winner.

Grenadier Captain Morana had us first revealing how many bandages we had on us before doing pushups and situps. We ran a few laps as well.

Then the real hard training began as he took us to train cross healing against the orcs, completely nude. Almost nude as we still had our helmets on.

We killed our share of orcs and we did it well but then.




An orc brute stepped in our path. We off course didn't hesitate and met it half way. I fell once but it was killed. We killed some more orcs and we must have pissed them off as another brute came at us. They must be afraid of us as they send the best they got. It did them no good as we killed that and another two brutes before we went back to the barracks.




We were dismissed after we had received both appraisal and some disproval. The bottom line was that we needed to train more cross healing.

Taybard Jaekel sat downstairs in the Cove Barracks as he had the report in front of him and the quill in his hand. His brow was furrowed in concentration as he thought back to what had happened. It was the first report by his hand and he wanted to do it right.

Yenril had heard a rumour about a dragon that had been seen in the desert among the scorpions. For what reason was unknown. If scorpions was bad a dragon that could eat any passing byers was a disaster. As no of Taybards or Yenril's superior officers or even a full guardsman was around they took it on themselves to investigate the matter and kill the dragon if they managed to do that.




Either the dragon was long gone or it had never been there. The only outcome of their investigation was a lot of dead scorpions. Not a bad day afterall.
