After our patrol with Ruby Whalebiter we were called up to the roof for a training by Junior Scout Keane Wakefield.  We all lined up infront of him where he started to inspect our packs to ensure we were carrying the correct equipment.  Unfortunatly I was caught missing a few things, a light source and something to make crates from.

Keane then questioned us on our knowledge of several orders.  We each took in turn giving him our answers.  We had a small debate on the retreat order and agreed that Covians do not retreat so we would rarely if ever need to resort to that order.

We then had a warm up starting with running around the rooftop and then several other gruelling exercises to get us prepared for a round of fighting.  Firstly Larinya and myself had to heal each other against the attacks of Rita as she hit us relentlessly with the butt of an axe.  We held up fairly well and other than a few bruises neither of us fell.  After this we began a round of last one standing, Larinya was the first to fall; myself and Rita were fighting for quite some time when Keane re-entered and helped to finish her off.  It was then left with myself against Keane but I was unable to stand up to his constant volley of arrows.

Once we had picked ourselves back up and were giving some pointers on fighting from Keane before being dismissed.

Whilst walking around the woods and checking on the trees, I slipped on some mud and ended up falling down a large hole.  I have heard about these holes before and them being part of some underground tunnel network made by large ants.

Seeing as I would have to find a way out I decided to take a closer look at things inside the hole.  I found all manner of flora down there and several nests with the different stages of eggs growing inside them.  I found the ants to be quite aggressive, which I found strange as often they ignore threats inside their nest believing that everything would be outside.  It was later that I came across a pile of human remains, clearly half eaten and realised these ants had begun to find a new food source, us.

With that in mind I decided to kill as many of the ants that stood in my path and find the queen that was laying eggs.  Once I had found her I set about killing it and any other nesting queens that were in the colony.  Tired from my work I eventually found a way out of the nest and set about the long walk home.

When I got back and checked my pack I realised I had gathered quite a pile of gold and interesting looking seed.

Gold Count - 11038
Queens Killed - 3.

Whilst I was laying down a banner in Luna, I overheard the town crier giving out the recent news and she seemed most upset.  I wandered over to hear what she had to say.

What I heard was quite distressing to say the least, so I headed off straightaway to speak to Professor Wilson at the Moonglow Zoo. I had not been there for some years now but always enjoyed the visit to see the rare creatures.

Upon reaching the zoo, I sought out the professor and asked him what was all the commotion about.

When I heard what he had to tell me I was very worried.  The effects this could have were extreme and could mean a disaster for all of us, it could easily spell a famine for not just Cove but everywhere in Sosaria.  I do not believe people are fully aware of the threat of these birds and certainly not that they are eating Humans.

I asked him what was to be done about this new threat and how best to cull these monster turkeys.

The professor gave me a brush with which to use on any scraps of map that were found whilst killing these beasts.  Though I know I alone could not hope to bring down one of these birds, I just hope someone will read this report and organise a proper hunt to help destroy them.

I too hate rats and other vermin and I find it hard to believe that some even keep them as pets, how disgusting.  I set about clearing the town of the rats, finding one inside someone's house, who thanked me gratefully for ridding her place of it.

Two I found near the docks, obviously come off from a tradeship, I warned the dock workers about allowing rats from other countries into Cove and the dangers they could cause.

As I left the town I spotted one heading into the Shire and made short work of it.

In total five rats were slain, two disposed off in the sea and the rest were burned by fire.

After I finished with the rats I went back to the barracks to clean myself and my axe of blood.
