A Word From Your Librarian

Letters posted all over the communal boards...in loopy handwriting.  They smell like lavender.

Greetings Fellow Covians!

It is my great honor that I write this letter to you. I am Fozia Freckletip, your librarian dwelling in your new Reading Room. Now you might say, who does this presumptuous woman think she is? I assure you, dear citizens, I am very much qualified and prepared to be entrusted the care of your library. I had been schooled since I was a very little girl, I have a great love of books, and of promoting literacy, culture and the arts through-out Sosaria. I hope you will allow me this chance to start this endeavour in Cove.

The Covian Reading Room is now open to the public, but to sustain it, we will need all of your help. It's very simple. First, you can support the library by simply visiting us to look at our collection, for what would our books be without their readers? This functions the other way around. Readers need books to browse. If you would have any reading materials you are willing to part from, please do consider donating them to the reading room through our handy mailbox just by the entrance. I am tremendously pleased to say that we have already started to receive a good number of donations from our esteemed army and citizenry. Do allow me this space to acknowledge their noble efforts:

We have also received contributions from patrons outside Cove, which truly warms my heart. The likes of Miss Trixie of Malas encourages us to promote a free flow and exchange of ideas, not merely within Cove but also with our neighboring towns and countries.

By reading materials, I don't mean only the rare first prints, or collector editions that could be found around Sosaria. I wish to include here your story, our story as Covians. Let me take this chance to encourage all of you to take the pen and write something about your Covian experience. No doubt, from the reports the valiant guardsmen make in their everyday adventures, to the daily tales and opinions our colorful citizens make, there is an untapped potential here in Cove for rich and unique literature that should be put into books. To assist you, we have a scribe shop in the library selling quality quill and inks, and blank books (As time goes on, our merchandise will grow.) We would love and treasure your personal inputs to be shared to all.

We have so much in store for our Reading Room! A few activities in the planning stage include lectures, discussions, and exhibits. I hope you will stay tuned as we develop our library further, and we hope you will be with us every step of the way.

With utmost gratitude and appreciation, we accept these books into our growing collection. Thanks to patrons like you, our Reading Room titles will be extensive, and our readers more informed.  We will be organizing a donation drive soon, but in the meantime you may hand them over to yours truly as soon as we cross paths.
