A grand night o' guard duty with nay bother to speak of apart from a wee melee at the barracks. *grumbles*

First the barricade on t' border, then patrol Cove and guardin' walls then I get's stuck wi' Darath Mithar on gate sentry ... and still nay bother. *laughs*

At least Cove sleeps soundly but me sword won't *grumbles*

Aye Watchman Moris, it was a tough un, the sandstorm.

But ye, Drewcilla and I almost took it down.

We put up a grand show o' tactics an' healing but it was nay enough in the end.

We were hugely outnumbered by the savages too.

I wandered to the barracks to see if any of me fellows were about.

I asked me superiors if any of them needed any errands running (what ye have to do to get promotion to Watchman).

Regular Arcanist Julius Estory pondered for a moment before saying "Morana off ye go and get me an Ogre's club - there be Ogres hidin' in the forests around 'ere, and write it up it'll count towards ye promotion".

I'll be off then!

It didn't take me long to find an Ogre.


It took me less to dispatch it - 't was nay match for a master swordsman.

Raiden wipes the sweat from 'is brow an' the blood from 'is sword to write another damn report.

I was alone checkin' our lands and fair city of Cove for trouble (i likes trouble) when I bumped into Watchman Moris bye t'docks.

'E err... invited me to join 'im on patrol, an' we headed for the barracks and was soon joined by Recruit Ronin Tirado.

Watchman Moris gathered some resources to build us an outpost in the graveyard an' we headed off to rid Cove of some nasties.

Although there be only three of us we showed fine teamwork covering and healing each other while makin' short work o' the undead.


After we'd cleared the graveyard Ronin an' I stood guard while Watchman Moris built our outpost.

We manned the position for a while an' ventured back out to clear the graveyard again - them nasties don't know when they're dead!


Having collected over 5800 coins in loot we dismantled our out post and with the cemetary now cleared we headed back to barracks.

We made our way to the Orc Fort an' encountered some weak resistance at first.


It did become more formidable tho' as we made our way deeper int' there den.


We worked well as a unit, covering and healing each other 'til all the evil Orcs were smited.

Under t' direction of Kal Shadowhand Melody Songbird and I made our way back to barracks to await further orders.

I had not seen any of my fellows since becoming a recruit, so this morning I made my way to the barracks to request my duty.

I came across a patrol led by Guardsman Recruit James Moris and was quickly told to fall in.

We headed to the graveyard *shivers* *the dead should remain dead mutters Raiden*. The patrol fought bravely and swiftly overcame it's unholy foes.

Under orders we swiftly captured a building within the graveyard and while I myself guarded the door Patrol Leader James Moris drilled my fellows in basic formations.

We again came under attack and I led our charge out of the building to slay our foes a second time.

In the heat of battle I took a blow from comrade James Moris.

I clattered him with the flat of my blade. "Strike me again and I'll knock you down". I cried with my blood up!

He claimed I came between him and a foe - Pah!

I KILL .. er fight for Cove - Undead, Kaldorians and Vesperians *spits* will my blade taste in the service of the Militia.

Our foes defeated we headed back to Barracks. A cowardly counter-attack by some ghostly apparitions cost my fellow Kaito Kajima his armour but we arrived back at the Barracks in good order.

I believe we took over 3000 gold pieces in loot - I donated my booty of 500 to Cove as did some of my fellows.

As my fellows and I were all raw recruits no-one volunteered to scribe this report, so our patrol leader ordered me to do it ... "Bah maybe I should have shown him the blade of my sword, not the flat of it".

I regret there are no drawings of our patrol. Tis bad enough a swordsman must write *mumbles and not many can* a damn report. Though I shall do better next time.

Thanks for your posts.

I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and hopefully I can get some serious game time in and maybe even make it to a Watchman

I found that at times i was just gaming aimlessly building up my skills but maybe not so much my fame and reputation and certainly not my bank balance

Can't wait to get really started and build a career in the Militia!


Now i need to sort a profile ...

Hello everyone.

Well i joined the Militia last night, Raiden Morana, Master Swordsman.

I didn't have too much time as it was quite late when I rec'd the Baron's Pigeon.

I had enough time to get equipped and have a spot of swordplay with Seamus at the barracks before logging off. (It wont be as easy for the next person i cross sword with!)

I decided to join up after bumping into an Arcane squad the other night (they rezzed me as I had been slain in Covetous). Arc gave me a link to the web site - ahem - tome, which is fantastic and invited me to join. Though I must say Veldrin's abruptness clinched it.

I have been playing UO for a few years off and on without really getting stuck into a character. Raiden's combat skills are quite good but he has often ploughed a lonely furrow against minor monsters on lower levels of covetous and despise so is still a little naive in combat - which is something i hope the Militia will put right!!!

Raiden needed a guild to gain colleagues for hunts and mentors to help hone his skills and potential.

I tend to get a couple of hours game time in during most week nights and a bit longer at weekends (not much tonight tho - the Reds are playing).

I'm new to guilds and role playing so i hope you guys will bear with me. I need to speed up my typing, people kept thinking i'd nodded off last night.

I know the tome states that no magic pieces such as rings and bracelets may be used - does that go for armour and weps? Can i only use standard issue armour and katana?

Also this is going to sound ridiculous but when i was fighting Seamus in the barracks i was unsure whether i could use bandies or healing potions/spells. A few pointers would be great.

That's it for now - sorry it's such a long post, I'll get a character profile together soon!
