All able bodied guardsmen were requested to gather at the barracks for a hunt to an undecided location. After lining up it was requested by Raven that we smash some elementals, so with Hoagie and his bulging biceps in the lead we set off to assault the caverns of Shame.
Once inside the daring but brash highlander Raven let loose with a battle cry and we quickly cut a path through the feeble elementals at the entrance. After smashing a good deal of the dirty foes, Hoagie had us take turns commanding to sharpen our leadership abilities. After brushing up on some skills we headed even deeper into Shame.
After passing through a magical gate we found the remains of previous brave (or foolish) souls. The bones and discarded gear boded ill, but we pressed on! The elementals became stronger, but were still no match for us. We soon came to a dark murky lake. Nearing the edge we found ourselves under attack from several Kraken and water elementals. After dispatching the fishy fiends we located a bridge... which is where the real trouble began.
I can't recall who started it, but Jenny and Raven were soon embroiled in an argument. The Sergeant was required to step in and flex his command muscles to calm the situation, unfortunately it wasn't in time to avoid a badly bruised shin.
Continuing on our way, we were soon stopped again due to Jenny and Raven at each others throats. With little other option, Hoagie gave the order for Ludwick and myself to subdue them. We quickly jumped on Raven and gagged him with a spare bandage but Jenny made a hasty getaway into the gloom of the cave. She soon returned though and proved to be cooperative.
Pressing onward we fought our way past acid, air, and fiery elementals to the lake fortress. Fighting our way across the bridge we made our way inside and slew the hostile wytches living within. Reaching the last empty room, we stopped for a rest. Hoagie handed out punishments to Raven and Jenny for their earlier behavior as such unrest between the troops in a dangerous place is unacceptable! Raven was given the task of cleaning out the barracks, whilst Jenny was to scrub clean the church.
Our haul was quite impressive. We captured gold coins amounting to 19,020 and a heap of various rare stones and gems
which Hoagie quickly pocketed before we could count. Our guardsman pay came to 3,000 coins each, with Jenny giving hers for the coffers.
