Massed Covian guardsmen and allies from Trinsic freed Cove this eve from the grip of orcs and undead.
It seems that continued efforts by the Covian army to disrupt the orc line of supply by patrolling Covian waters and by repeated forays into the orc fort had weakened the invaders to such an extent that the final battle was something of a formality.
The liberators formed up outside the city walls as Grenadier Captain Raiden Morana organised the forces under his disposal in to three waves. Sergeant Kelly Sanderson to lead the first wave of Covians through the gates to be followed by the volunteers from Trinsic under the command of Captain Kaelyn, with Raiden leading the remaining Covians in the third and hopefully decisive assault.
As Sergeant Sanderson led her squad into the town they were greeted by an eerie silence and the stench of rotting flesh, with not an orc or undead warrior in sight. Cautiously they advanced through the deserted streets while outside the second and third waves waited nervously.
Without warning the city gates burst open and the orcs charged the staging area, driving foul beasts before them. The advantage of surprise only delayed the inevitable as the massed second and third waves of Covian and Duchy forces swarmed about the orcs and their beasts cutting them down in moments, before spilling into Cove to complete the victory.
With the town secured and civilians filtering back in to start the clean up operation the allied forces headed to the Cove orc fort to continue the slaughter and teach the stinking heathens a lesson they wouldn't forget for a while.
At last, battle weary and with no more orc blood to spill the victorious warriors headed back to the Baronship Household and a well deserved drink in the tavern.
