Report:
I was sitting in the pub talking to Miss Gwendyn, when I saw Guardsman Recruit run out followed by Regular Guardsmen Delcarakdur. On his way out he gave me the order to ready arms for battle! Not knowing what was going on, I followed his orders and ran after them. When I got to the steps of the barracks, I found RG Delcarakdur standing over what papered to be a dead body near the steps of the market just west of the barracks and GR Varthrug standing just a few steps from me southeast of the barracks steps. RG Delcarakdur was looking towards GR Varthug who was acting strangely. I asked in general what happen, what is going on? (I was armed but not at the ready). When all of a sudden, GR Varthug looked at me and yelled “traitor” and attack me with some kind of fire spell. I was stunned that a fellow guardsman was attacking me, when he hit me a second time; I leveled my crossbow and returned fire hitting him. He took off running east towards the town hall. RG Delcarakdur took pursuit and yelled, “Take him down!” I took off after him, shooting twice more and dropping him.
RG Delcarakdur check for signs of life and found that he was still alive; at that point I applied some band-aids. RG Delcarakdur then said take him to the barracks for questing. So I help carry GR Varthug to the barracks to the interrogation room. RG Delcarakdur tied him to the chair and asked me to lock the door. He then started to question GR Varthug. GR Varthug responds were in the form of mad ranting and foaming at the mouth and drooling. He did say something about “Their Coming!” RG Delcarakdur then ordered me to find an officer; he stated he thought that the captain might be up in his office. So I unbolted the door and left. I went up stairs and banged on the captain door, when it opens, I went inside and told him he was needed downstairs quickly! I then headed back down stairs followed by the captain.
Once back in the room, RG Delcarakdur explained what had transpired thus far. The captain then started asking question of GR Varthug. He was just going loony. His voice change totally. And told the captain that “this soul be longs to me and to let him go NOW!” GR Varthug then started thrashing about and RG Delcarakdur gave him a pop to the side of the head. This seem to quiet him down a bit. The captain told RG Delcarakdur that the church should look into this because they were better qualified. He then order that he be placed in the “special cell” for his own protection until the church had time to speak with him. I then help RG Delcarakdur escort him to the cell.
Once inside, Senior Scout Mela Arkay arrived and demanded to know what was going on! RG Delcarakdur briefed her. She did not seem happy with what RG Delcarakdur told her. She then countered the Captain’s orders and removed him from the “special cell” to a regular cell.
Then Senior Scout Mela Arkay, seeming quite hostile ordered me in to the interrogation room and started question me! I told her every thing I knew. I go the impression that she might have thought that I go around attacking recruits! And told me that if something like this happens again it would set off bell flags. I was just following orders. At one point during her “interview” of me she loaded her crossbow as to send a signal that I was about to be shot! She then asked me several times if RG Delcarakdur had beaten or touched him (GR Varthrug)? I told her what I had seen. She then dismissed me. I saluted smartly and departed.
