The Company ~ Ranks & Structure.

Mercenary Recruit (Formerly Guardsman Recruit & Watchman)



Recruits are worked hard through trainings and tasks so that they can learn discipline and the ways of The Company. Once they have gained experience and the respect of their fellows they must complete a promotional trial to become an accepted Mercenary.

Uniform:
Shadow Iron Ringmail Tunic, Sleeves, Leggings, Gloves, Platemail Gorget and Plate Helm. Company Sash, Kilt, and Bandana/Skullcap.

Requirements: Has read the Baronship tome, and passed the Entry Test.

Mercenary (Formerly Junior & Regular Guardsman)



Mercenaries are the backbone of The Company, experienced warriors who have come through their time as a recruit and lived to tell the tale. Mercenaries are allowed to accept low level contracts without Command approval but are expected not to break with The Company's ethos in doing so. Mercenaries are also expected to keep Mercenary Recruits busy by leading events and mentorship.

Uniform:
Shadow Chainmail Tunic, Shadow Chainmail Leggings, Shadow Platemail Arms, Shadow Platemail Gloves, Shadow Platemail Gorget and Platemail Helm. Company Sash, Kilt, and Cap/Skullcap.

Alternatively a full Shadow Platemail suit may be worn.

Requirements: Has shown good activity, good roleplay and good service to The Company.

Veteran Mercenary



Veteran mercenaries have enjoyed many an adventure during their career and have the scars to prove it. They are able to accept mid level contracts and know better than to bend The Company's rules too far. Veteran Mercenaries often act as back up to The Company's officers and keep the other ranks busy through their leadership as well as instilling discipline where needed.

Shadow Chainmail Tunic, Shadow Chainmail Leggings, Shadow Platemail Arms, Shadow Platemail Gloves, Shadow Platemail Gorget and Platemail Helm. Company Sash, Kilt, and Cap/Skullcap.

Requirements: Has shown good activity, good roleplay and long service to The Company.

Hardened Mercenary (Special Rank)



The Hardened Mercenary is the ultimate Company man or woman. These veterans have served their time and have seen conflicts in all corners of the world. Often looking gruff and grizzled it's obvious that the Hardened Mercenary has perfected their trade through years of discipline and drill.

Uniform:
Shadow Chainmail Tunic, Shadow Chainmail Leggings, Shadow Platemail Arms, Shadow Platemail Gloves, Shadow Platemail Gorget and Platemail Helm. Company Sash, Kilt, and Cap/Skullcap.

Alternatively a full Shadow Platemail suit may be worn.

Requirements: Has served a long and distinguished career in The Company.

Officer Cadet. (Special Rank)



Mercenaries who display outstanding leadership skills are permitted to apply for the Officer Cadet Scheme, which tests their ability to organise and command. Successful Cadets go on to become Company Corporals.

Uniform:
Shadow Chainmail Tunic, Shadow Chainmail Leggings, Shadow Platemail Arms, Shadow Platemail Gloves, Shadow Platemail Gorget and Platemail Helm. Company Kilt, Cap/Skullcap and Officer's Sash.

Alternatively a full Shadow Platemail suit may be worn.

Requirements: Has completed the Officer Cadet application process. Holds a rank similar to Veteran Mercenary.

Mercenary Corporal



Corporals are usually long standing Company men who have shown leadership qualities through their actions for the Company. They keep all ranks busy with duties and tasks and keep a firm grip on The Company's discipline. They can also accept any type of contract.

Shadow Chainmail Tunic, Shadow Chainmail Leggings, Shadow Platemail Arms, Shadow Platemail Gloves, Shadow Platemail Gorget and Platemail Helm. Company Kilt, Cap/Skullcap and Officer's Sash.

Requirements: Has shown good activity, good roleplay and leadership.

Mercenary Sergeant



Enormous respect is paid to such men or women who achieve this rank. The duties of the Sergeant include organising and leading patrols/hunts/sentries/trainings and tasks. Mercenary Sergeants are sticklers for discipline and report directly to the Commander.

Commander



Commander is the highest rank that can be attained in The Company as it was in the Covian Army before it. Usually a veteran of countless campaigns the Commander is The Company's leader and has earned the respect of his men through years of dedicated service and leadership. The Commander is not a man to be crossed or questioned.
