I want ter say first that I am a new
sitti city citizen of Cove and this is my first report, so please tell me if I do anything wrong.
We, that's me and
*messy scrawl* Grenadeer Darek and Recruit Bersi, was in the Goblin, and I was about to go do some woodcutting, when I had the idea that we should hold off on felling good Covian lumber for the moment, and also strike a blow for the Tavern War, and go chop lumber from Vesper's woods. The two guards were happy ter come with me, watch me back and help carry our spoils home, and Darek needed wood to make arrows in any case.
We started out well, and I am glad that Darek knew the way because of there being lots of
anseent old ruins as we went through the woods, enough to spook a man walking alone.
But we soon smelled the sea breeze and found ourselves outside a building with a sign saying it was the Vesper Headquarters, and, making sure no-one was watching, I set to work on the tree nearest to the HQ,
while my Guardsman...guards...guarded me!
I cut a second tree, a pristine Oak with a love heart of some Vesper hussy carved into it, maybe breaking a heart or two, while the guards spread out, checking for angry Vesperians.
I paused to rest after felling the trees, and after we showed our
comtemp dislike of their HQ, then started preparing the trunks for carrying, and we got all loaded up and underway!
We made it back with the Vesperians none the wiser, though with Darek's arms full of lumber, we had to rely on my *scribble* meeger skill with the axe and Recruit Bersi's
wi magik to see off the monsters in the woods.
I put the 50 logs I owed Kiran in the pile, then split the remaining logs into boards and left them to Darek to use for the army's needs.
