What started out as a plan to hunt down unlicensed ships in covian waters turned awry as the winds from the south were bringing in a storm. The back up plan was a training session, to my delight we held it in Serpents Hold.
I was teamed up with A recruit I'd never met before for the first exercise, so I decided to use out of the box thinking as the rules only specified no leaving the island by bridge, It seemed like an appropriate thing to do since recruits need all the advantages they can get when it comes to surviving.
I borrowed my old neighbor Ar'nid's fishing boat and set sail into the Salty sea tracing the coast of the hold I could see the fear in the Recruits eyes questioning my sanity to take such a daring and risky and possibly stupid route around the island, the shear danger just to avoid running into the opponents on our way to a more appropriate starting place.
*Dramatic representation*After we landed in the jungle, the place I feel most comfortable, the terror of the recruit had not subsided being assailed by serpents wasn't part of her childhood one can only assume. As we trudged towards the out post at the end of the road expecting to find the team of mages taking up in a barricaded area, and expecting to take them by surprise by scaling the wall and getting in behind them, It turned out to be empty except a serpent which had the remains of an uninformed noble inside it as often happens. I had to tell the recruit that it was a semi common occurrence and that they had to let it go.
By the end of the session the battle moved to the clear places much to my dismay. And Cal'ain hadleft
The next part was inside the fort city itself and I was paired with Pickles. Needless to say the event was uneventful and a normal training session and ended after a bit or deceitful double crosses.
