Following the orders of our liege, Lord Mikael von Richter, newly-declared Protector of Vesper, we set out to do the aforementioned protecting of Vesper. I gathered up Briggs (who shall NOT be referred to as "Cap'n") and a few others, and we set about fortifying the area around Swaggers Inn.
As we finished up our construction, a small contingent of Yewish troops arrived, presumably to harass assorted Vesperian types. Needless to say, they were surprised to see us. Regardless of our alliance, however, we are bound by our treaty with Vesper to uphold local laws, and local laws forbid the presence of Yewish troops. I explained this to Sergeant Nottinbury, assured them that Cove harbors no ill will towards Yew, and invited them to visit Cove itself at a later date.
The Yewish left without a fuss, so I sent Valentine out to gather wood while I pushed together some crates and stools to make a table. Soon after Valentine's return, we were approached by a party of Orcs who, upon being challenged, claimed to be heading to Cove.
We proceeded to bay them, except in the ocean. This is henceforth to be known as "ultra-baying." Briggs slipped and was injured during this process, but is expected to recover. Our job now complete, we met with Mayor Cuilwen, who rewarded us with a round of drinks before we dismantled the sentry and returned to Cove.
