Hear ye, hear ye!
Let it be known to all Covian citizens that the city of Vesper has conducted a grave series of misdeeds and provocations against our fair Baronship! Not content with allowing elves to attack the clergy on the Day of the Divine, the Vesperians sought to shackle Cove to a false treaty which allowed necromancers to roam free and Redguards to command Covians at whim!
Our gracious and noble liege did ride forth to rectify this wrong, accompanied by many a brave Grenadier - setting their course for the Vesper town library, which housed the offending false document!
Upon arrival, his Lordship and bodyguards were held ruthlessly hostage by Vesperian scallywags, who refused to yield passage - leading to the great BATTLE OF THE STAIRS!
Naturally Covian infinite Covian patience did prevail, but a tense stand off was had between the ne'er-do-wells and the glorious Covian Army! The leaderless Vesperian mob could tell nay left hand from right! Despite endless provocations, Covian restraint prevented a full scale conflict
The Baron did thereafter call the Grand Covian War Council, which made many wise plans to defeat the Vesperian menace, and thereafter marched to seek alliance with the natural friends of Cove - the faithful Avatarians of Yew!
Yew naturally received the Covian legions in a spirit of friendship and mutual outrage, seeking to broker a treaty of alliance!
Yewish concerned about the unruly nature of Covian elves were solved by the brokering of a new elf tax! Praise be!
Having settled the terms of the alliance, the joint force moved swiftly to deal with the odious Guardian loving Vesperians!
The few yapping Vesperian dogs who had been so vocal before were caught off guard by the mighty combined force, cowering in their boots and begging for mercy!
In an act of true mercy and chivalry, rather than slaughtering the Vesperians, Cove sought satisfaction for Vesperian crimes by burning down the offending library, thus annulling the treaty forever! Covian liberty and dignity is restored!
Long live the alliance!
~ Long live Cove!
~ Tax the elves!
~ Punish the Vesperian!
