With the Baron and his adjutant in attendance, the original turnout for the parade was excellent, with many soldiers present. One might wonder if their love for parades and lack of zeal hampers their effort in combating the vile Vesperian vermin. Surely with such numbers, the war wouldst be over by next mass. However, it quickly became clear that they had been truly lax in their duties and there would be no promotions, with the officers only answered with snark from the churls in attendance. If this is due to low morale, I dost suggest daily mass services or lashings until morale improves.
The original turnout.
However, the Baron wished to field test his new ship and its cannons. Regrettably, Sergeant Kelly Sanderson ended up semi-naked and suffering the oggling of the other guards due to burn injuries related to the firing of said cannon. This led to a sharp decline in guard presence.
The parade ended with training, with some good and sound tactical instruction from Cailin Keres; strike down the wytch first, everything else is secondary. There were other, less important details, but he did communicate the basics in a most satisfactory manner.
Gratefully, Danaeyl, Ulrich Malberg, and thyself graced the later combat training with thy presence, surely improving morale and focussing the inattentive guards' minds. I believe our presence truly was an inspiring sight for the guards.
