Dark Dealings in the Desert"I know where i's goin' !"Joey woke to a strong "Thud!" on the wall, he looked over to see a dead pigeon on the floor,
it had flown into the wall and died on impact, though something was hanging from its feet,
yes! it was a note !
He examined the note,
"Help me ! we've been stalked by the beast for days now,
my friends are gone, i dont know where, im sure they're around somewhere...
If you can reach me good guardsman, the co-ordinates are as follows
*A faint set of co-ordinates are here*"
A peasant sends his request"Bloodi' 'ell !" Joey thought, he had to do something, so he set off to organise a group
of Guardsmen to aid him in finding the lost Covians.
They set off through the moongate and into the dark city of Umbra in the land of Malas,
Joey seemed certain he knew his way, though a pile of stones would probably have a
better sense of direction.
They marched for what seemed like hours, up and down the main road seraching for any hint
of a desert until finally, they stumbled across a small plot of sand, they must be going the
right way ! of so Joey thought.
They marched on and sure enough they found a desert, but what Joey didnt atke into
consideration was that Deserts arent a small area to search...
They stumbled around in the blinding heat searching for anything that might resemble the
researchers camp, until atlast they finally found something, but where was everyone? before
they knew it arrows and weapons were flying around, it was an ambush !
The group managed to fight off the bandits and one of the ying men pointed us in the direction
of something that might interest us, so we set off to find it.
The Group find something mysteriousA strange looking structure in the middle of the desert, perhaps they were getting closer? none knew.
They stumbled around the desert for a while longer, some of th men removes their armour to
help with the heat, but it was not enough, men were falling behind and passing out until finally
they had found the researchers camp, with only one tubby looking man rummaging through
some of the items they had stored there.
The Man explains...The tubby man explained how he managed to defend the camp from a huge beast that gobbled
up his friends... apparently... well, anyway it was their job to make sure the researchers didnt
die in vane, the last man led the unit out into the desert in search of the beast.
We came across a huge structure, built in the same way as the structure they had found before,
the man had no clue how to get inside so we began searching around the area for any way of
climbing up, miraculously a Recruit Grazgorn knew the way up using a mound of sand to find his
way, the others followed only to find the entrance to the Pyramid was blocked!
Sergeant Greystone stating the obvious...The unit head on around the pyramid, searching for ways to get to the top, maybe there was
another entrance somewhere, but alas their efforts were slowed by the fat peasant who couldnt
keep up, the Guardsmen stood around impatiently waiting for him to climb up and eventually
continued the search.
The Peasant gets some excerciseThe group headed on searching the pyramid, was there no way to get inside? men were smashing
at the solid walls trying to gain entrance with no such luck, would the search end here? never!
Joey thought to himself, he was determined to find the Researchers!
They continued searching for the entrance until in the end the only way Joey would resort to was to climb!
Climb climb climb...Eventually all the men were gathered at the top of the Pyramid around a huge hole in the roof,
Joey peeked over the edge to see a large group of undead inside the pyramid,
"Righ' when i's
say we're goin' t'jump in alrigh'?" Joey said to the patrol who just stared blankly at him for a
moment before he leaped into the Pyramid yelling "For Cove !", the unit all shrugged and leaped
in after him, crushing many of the undead on the way in.
The men quickly formed a defensive formation and fought off the undead who aproached them
before eventually securing the room, Kal Shadowhand was startled by the huge peasant who
came hurtling down from the hole in the roof and landing ontop of him, though alas both survived
with only minor injuries.
The men secure the roomThe men fought there way down the levels of the pyramid despite the undead resistance trying
to push them back at every point.
The men managed to protect the civilian guide until they reached the depths of the pyramid and
the huge beast recognised the man and mauled him to death despite our effort so hold it back.
One less useless fat peasantJoey knew his goal, he was to defeat the beast and claim glory for it, "Charge 'em beast !" Joey
screamed as the men ran towards the beast ho easily repelled the first few blows.
The beast was more resistant them Joey had thought but the group were determined to defeat it,
maces smashed, spells flew and eventually the..thing was brought down, another win for Cove !
Joey claims the kill for himselfThe men eventually found a way out of the structure and Khaileth returned them home with a
moongate, though the researchers were lost, they did not die in vane as Joey was able to
claim another legendary creature for himself !
