Grenadier's Trials: Junior Valentine - COMPLETED

Testing his leg, Ahmed decides to take a stroll around the Barracks. He notices Junior Valentine target practicing. Eyeing his every shot, Ahmed noticed that the Junior had skill. He subtly tapped Valentine on his shoulder and flicked the piece of paper towards him…

Junior Valentine! You’re a Junior now eh? Well don’t get all excited apprentice, you still have a lot to do before you make a Grenadier. It would be good if you would first off complete these tasks! Get to it Junior!

I have three tasks for you!

• Travel to dungeon Ice and find the ‘arctic ogre lords’ lair. Slay three of them and bring back their clubs as proof.
• With tensions running high between Vesper and Cove, I require you and a party of at least three guardsmen to build and man a garrison at the Barracks for at least twenty minutes. Send out a patrol to the town of Cove to check up on things.

• Organise and lead a hunt to the ‘forgotten pyramid’ outside the city of Umbra.
  
  
  
  
  There, with your party of at least five guardsmen, slay three of the ‘sphinx’ that lurks there. However, do not return to Cove until you have gathered twenty thousand gold pieces in loot.

Everything is to be documented in this thread, with full reports for each, including sketches.

This is wha' i been waitin' fer....

Th' first o' me trials i was te complete on me own. I 'ad te go te the Ice Dungeon, an' slay three arctic ogre lords on me own!
Once i 'ad killed 'em, i 'ad te collect their clubs as proof o' me success.
As i made me way in, i were attacked by a horde o' ratmen, spiders an' puddles o' slime! They soon found 'emselves full 'o arrows an' i carried on me way.
Suddenly, i were face wit' a huge Lord! i steeled meself, and proceeded te attack.



he' was nay match fo' me speed and skill with a bow, an' i was soon 'oldin' th' three clubs i needed.



When i 'ad finished up, i  left th' cursed place te rest up fo' me next trial

Fantastic work on slaying the three terrible beasts. You seem quite good with the bow you carry, and it will come useful for us, and perhaps more importantly while standing side-by-side with fellow Grenadiers. Exceptional report Junior Valentine.

Me secon' task were te build a garrison aroun' th' barracks, te ecure it from the enemy should they attack. we started off gatherin' the gear we'd be needin'. Regular Shadowhand an' Recruit Layla went te gater some hides, while i set off in search o' some wooden items te use fer th' walls.
I managed te find a kindly carpenter who made all the gear we needed.
With th' gear gathered, we started te build.
After a while, ou' work be complete. We stood back te admire ou' 'andywork, an' it 'ad nay turned ou' too bad!



Next, recruit Layla, Regular shadowhand an' meself went to patrol cove.
All was well in cove so we 'eaded back te the Garrison.



There, we manned it until we were sure it be safe.

I started ou' tellin' th' group wha' we woul' be facin'. The sphinx were nay pushover an' the mummys  it pretty 'ard as well. Once i 'ad briefed 'em, we 'eaded te the moongate, Destination Umbra.
Once there we made our way through th' scorching desert te th' forgotten pyramid.
Gettin' in was nay easy though. The entrance was up a set o' broken rocks which we nay spotted 'til we 'ad skirted round it a bit.




Once inside, we proceeded down te attack th' sphinx.
We met one 'ead on, an' 'ad a few casualties, but we soon 'elped 'em up an' continued te slay 'em 'til we 'ad a nice pile on th' floor!



We then fought a few more fer th' gold, an' before we knew it, we were done.
We agthered th' gold an' 'eaded to th' barracks to deposit it in th' militia coffers.
Over 22.000 gold coins, nay a bad sum.
