The infidels prevail! ... Or do they?

*Erik stands before a squad of eager Militiamen*

Good! Good! Many brave men have come! Excellent! We shall be convertin' many heathens today! We shall venture deep into a keep infested with heathenous and monstrous spiders! Tis a perilous journey indeed because the keep itself is surrounded by hordes of equally infidellic gigantuous snakes! Tis a brave man that dares to attempt this conversion!



*Some people mutter in the crowd and only the very brave where rejoiced at the challenge*

Right! Lets be on our way! To Moonglow first! And then onwards to Papua!

*The squad makes their way to Papua and attempts to keep an upbeat spirit*



*The squad approaches the Terathan Keep by it's winding entrance road*

Right! Easy now lads! Eaaaasy! Advance slowly! We don't want to arrouse those blasted snakes!!

*In vein, it seems, because a large group of snakes twice the size of most the guardsmen slither there way to us already brandishing their arms*



*Erik wipes some sweat off his brow*

Ahem! We've been detected, we're in for a pickle now! Brace yourselves!

*Wave after wave of increasingly powerful snakes break upon the Militia formation*



Good! Good lads! Keep at it! Ke... AAAARGH!

*The skirmishes seemed a diversion. In the back an entire legion of these snakes had gathered and now battered down on the flabbergasted guardsmen. A courageous last stand ..*



*After a quick retreat the brave True Believers try to break through the infidellic hordes but to no avail! Their numbers diminished as more and more guardsmen discovered excuses why not to spread the word of the Avatar on these heretics*

*After a gruesome evening Erik sounds the retreat horn in defeat. The group silently makes its way back to barracks*

*Battered, bruised, badly wounded, missing armour and boots, the disillusionned squad gather before the barracks. Sergeant Maktoum managed to snag some gold in the retreat but in the end the evening has to be considered a defeat*



*Eric apppologises to the men and goes off in search of new boots and sash, his head bowed in shame*

*Erik sits on a barracks stool still sobbing about the defeat earlier in the day and mutters to himself*

Bah! Blasted snakes! I'll get them! Oh by the avatar I swear I'll get them! I'll get them even if it's the last thing I'll do!

*Ahmed catches Erik muttering*

Hahah! Those snakes pummeled our greatest warriors into the ground! Noone is getting in that keep lad!

No! I refuse to believe that! I shall get in!

You couldn't get into your boots this morning let alone the Keep!

No! You'll see! I SHALL!



*Erik arrives in Papua at dusk*

Good! Good! This darkness will cloak my entrance!

*Erik sneaks slowly along the winding entrance road and carefully avoids large groups of snakes. One group blocks his advancement though*

I must risk it! I must!

*Erik rapidly loosens a few arrows and the group of snakes sinks dead down. He peers around for quite a while and when satisfied no others heard him he rejoices*



*Deeper and deeper, Erik crawls, another sharp turn and....No snakes to be seen anymore!*

I've done it! I've broken through the siege! I'm now in the Terathan Keep! Muahahahaha!



Now Then! Fear! Flee! Scatter before me, for the wrath of Arkay will be great!

*Erik slays a few spiders and starts to become cocky and advances while taunting the residents of the keep. A mistake it would soon seem...*



*The dead Spider Matriarch lays dead before Erik*

Those who do not embrace the Avatar shall perish! You and your filthy drones! But enough of this for now. I'm still in quite a pickle. I doubt I shall be as lucky again to slip past the snakish barricades. This requires thinkin' Arkay! Think! There must be a way!



*Erik rushes off towards the barricades, a Matriarch and a few of her drones in hot persuit!*

Gwahaha! There's only one thing these heathenous snakes hate more then humans! And that's these spiders!

*Erik dashes right in the middle of a huge gathering of clearly dumbstruck snakes but as soon as the two heathenous races spot each other they forget all about poor little Arkay! Fierce fighting erupts as Erik jumps over the barricades and makes a dash for the forest, still chuckling to hiself*



Gwahahahahaha! Why try to convert both of these infidellic races when they can do that for us? After todays attack I suppose both of them will be dukin' it out for quite a while now!
