A sheet of crisp water crashed against a cluster of rocks, caught a brisk gust of wind and covered Darath, stood just a few feet from the shore. He grunted and poked the tip of his tongue at some of the spray that had landed on his upper lip. The aging Guardsman muttered to himself, even the sea water tasted different somehow. Nothing had been the same when he had returned from his extended leave, exploring some….business opportunities in the far reaches of Sarosaria. The ever corrupt Baron had up and left. It was news that brought a broad smile to Daraths face, his first in many months. Perhaps Cove could finally settle down with him gone. Alas there was also a bad side Daraths findings.  Many Guardsmen, including his friend John Dell, had left with him. Coupled with Ryans disappearance this left him with more or less none of the precious friends that he had finally made in Cove. But enemies….he had never failed to make more than enough of them, here was no exception. His harsh demeanour and near constant frantic warnings of Baron Octiovus’s devious scheming to new and old Guardsmen alike had not sat well with them. And now even a plague within the city walls…….

The conclusion had come brutally; once again he was stuck somewhere where there was nothing left for him. Same story just a different place. He sighed wearily, the years where catching up. Nowadays the fatigue didn’t ride well upon his shoulders and was showing noticeably on his face. How much he had hoped that he could see out his days in Cove with at least a couple of friends to counterbalance those many foes he had accumulated over the years. ‘Well then’ Darath squinted into the sea breeze up at the barracks, then towards Cove. ‘Looks like there’s one final adventure to be had’ he grunted, the road beckoned once more.

[OOC: Well guys its time for Darath to move on. Had some truly great times with some great friends. Going to miss ya'll! Till next time.........]
