So you want to be a good roleplayer? Then before you begin reading this guide then i suggest you hop on over to Octiovus's Guide to Good Communications located here... http://cove.fantasyworld.nl/forum/index.php/topic,731.0.html


Once you've got your communications all sorted then you hop on to Step one.


Step one: Dont communicate as if your writing a boring school essay

Add emotion into your sentences, doing that will make you more interesting to roleplay with.

Example.

Bad RP:

Guard: Ey! ye! Ah 'eard ye wet yer bed when ya was lil! *Laughs Histerically*
You: no i didn i never wet my bad you wet your bed if you say i did


Good RP:


Guard 1: Ey! ye! Ah 'eard ye wet yer bed when ya was lil! *Laughs Histerically*
You: Wh.. Whah?! Thats a lie an' ye damn right know it! *Clenchest Fists*



Just think if it was you yourself in that position, would you just stand around and talk as if your reading from a poorly spelled letter?
 Type everything as if its coming from your own mouth.


Step Two: Disarm

When you got a shield and sword in your hand and your about to arrest someone, then take the time and disarm your hands before placing cuffs on the suspect.

The same goes for when your sitting in a tavern, you enter with no hostile motives so the correct reaction to walking through the entrance would be to disarm immedietly, and not sit down at the bar with a shield and sword armed.


If you truly want people to notice you as a good roleplayer, then go even further. Take off your gloves when you drink your ale, remove your gorget due to lack of comfort. In fact take off that whole suit of heavy armor, its disrupting your private time.


Step Three: Be aware of the OOC devil.

Everyone knows how much of a pain it is to accidently send a message like "AFK a sec, phone." straight into IG vicinity. So to prevent that just take your time and LOOK at the message before you push that enter button.

Here is a little list of alternates instead of the OOC that sometimes does pop up.

ok            -                Okay, Allright, Very Well.
ICQ          -                Pigeon, Dove.
Webpage -               Tome, book.
Lol, Rofl    -               *Laughs*, *Giggles*, *Chuckles*.
Lag           -                Mud

=(             -               *Looks Sad*, *Pouts*.
Cool          -               Great, Grand.
