The Search Begins...

What she had heard about Carl Hammond happened to be true. He had somehow got his hands on documents that helped us on our way to finding Jenifer. Even though scouts Valentine and Arkay were suspicious as to how he’d laid his hands on such documents, the primary thought was about getting Feather back to Cove.

The chances were still exceedingly slim that Feather was still alive, but if what these documents told them were true, then the opportunity simply could not be passed. Kelly did not know much of this Hammond man. She had only once seen him in the Scout Cabin when it was under construction, and the reason for his being there was still undetermined. He had just informed Kelly that he had been helping her late husband Vince, a short while before his accident occurred.

Hammond also mentioned Mela. He said that she might know further things about the whereabouts of Jen and what she was up to before she went missing. Valentine thought about why Mela hadn’t come to her with this information. However, she forgot to ask Arkay about this when she saw her. She just handed her the documents and Mela took them, assuring her that she would give them back the next day. These documents were unsigned, and they looked as though they had come from someone high up in the ranks.

If Hammond was lying about Jenifer, Kelly would have to take matters to the Baron himself. There was not a moment to lose. She picked up her pile of documents after considering the situation further, and made her way to the Scout Cabin and Offices, in a large attempt to discover more information…

Bits of information that Hammond had given her in those documents... That Jen was somewhere on the "first" of the Tokuno Islands. Then something about going down a road with cargo. Maybe these were the steps that Jen took on her mission? If so, taking a lot of men with us was the best idea.

Whilst doing so, she thought about why she should be the one doing all of this. She didn’t have to think about that long. She already knew the answer. Jen had been there for her as a recruit and through to joining the Scouts. Vince had cared about Feather… Maybe a little more than Kelly was comfortable with, but he still cared. The last reason was that the scouts didn’t just want her back, but needed her.

The main search began, and the scouts began counting down the two nights up until they headed out into the night…
