She sat in the nursery, watching Ryan as he sucked his thumb, tiny fist clutched around a blanket. He was doing well, growing stronger each day. He recognised his father and squeeled with delight whenever he heard Raidens voice. It was a miracle he had made it through the attacks on her during pregnancy.

At his medical Exam, Maddy had noted that one of his legs seemed slightly shorter than the other, but otherwise he was the picture of infant health. "He should be able to walk and run, but he may walk with a bit of a limp." Maddy had told her.

And now she worried for his life. Reports of trouble brewing between various factions, the death of Emma at the Goblin in one of the attacks all weighed heavily on her mind. The attack on Thomas by the Collegium, and other news had her worried about the safety of their month old son. Raiden had requested she Manage the Goblin, and yet did not trust his care to any stranger. She spent many nights late at the Goblin while Raiden took care of Ryan.  It left little time for sleep. She was catching cat naps between nursing, changing and playing with this child who meant the world to her. Never before meeting Raiden had she thought it possible to love another so deeply that your heart felt like it would burst at any moment...and now she felt that way for two.

The new design of the Goblin would mean room for many more customers and hopefully foster events that would draw in crowds. It also was better suited for Guards and bouncers to be able to handle any trouble, and for staff to get to safety behind the bar and in the kitchen until any situation was dealt with. She was greatly releived that Ed had returned. She remained Manageress, but now that he was back, much of the burden of leadership could be shared.

Whatever it took she would keep her child and husband safe. She would just have to get accustomed to little sleep.
