The Wytch Hunter's Handbook

The Malleus Maleficoveum details the organisation, methodology, life and operations of the Covian Wytch Hunter

By Ingram Bloodrock

Sosaria is a world fraught with danger. It is said that the very origins of our plane of existence are born from wytchcraft, and corruption seeps from every pore of the planet. For centuries, there has been only one line of defence which has secured humanity's continued survival in this perilous world. That thin line has come to be known as the Templi Order, and their many associates. Thus when I was tasked with writing this guide some three summers ago, I knew it was both a great and terrible quest. Every word found within these pages has been sculpted as to give the reader the ultimate advantage over the Guardian's taint. Yet, even after all my years of serving our righteous Lord, I can say I have only seen a fraction of the evil that we face. It will require more than a mere book to drive back the evil hordes, yet it is my hope that this manuscript shall go someway in combating the taint.

Introduction

Roleplaying a Wytch Hunter is unlike any other position within the Baronship of Cove. While many positions within the guild offer nigh-on unlimited creative freedom, roleplaying a Wytch Hunter is governed by many strict and absolute rules. While such oddities as compassionate or atheist Wytch Hunters may exist, you must be prepared to accept the fact that once these traits are discovered, it is most likely your character will be terminated. A position as a Wytch Hunter is not suggested for beginner roleplayers, nor should it be treated as an insult if your application to be a Wytch Hunter is rejected. The Wytch Hunter element prides itself on seeking out a specific type of roleplayer to fill the ranks.

Roleplaying a Wytch Hunter

Wytch Hunters are intelligent, scheming, solitary, paranoid and above all merciless. Wytch Hunters do not make permanent friends, and will consequently not hesitate to act against long standing acquaintances or even relatives if ordered to. The Wytch Hunter is indifferent to human suffering, and doesn't consider the notion when pursuing their goals. Orders are not there to be questioned; but are to be carried out with ruthless efficiency. Wytch Hunters are accountable only to the top echelon of the ecclesiarchy and consequently take little heed of civilian or military orders.

Becoming a Wytch Hunter

Players seeking to become a Wytch Hunter should send a private message to both Ingram Bloodrock and Siegfried with the following information (short-hand applications are often rejected immediately):

Pigeon (ICQ) Number:
Player Age:
Player Country:
Current/Previous Characters & their guilds:
Time served with the CoRE Community:
Why do you wish to become a Wytch Hunter?
What could you bring to the role?

After sending your application, you may receive a reply containing various questions regarding the community, the guild, and the Church to ensure you’re prepared to join us; so be sure to retain what you read in preparation for your application.

Provided satisfactory answers are received, you may be ask to submit a character development proposal, outlining the details of the character you wish to create including proposed name, background, and all other relevant details. Do not create your character until all details have been approved, as character who fail to meet the character creation criteria will not be invited to join the guild until all issues have been resolved.

Wytch Hunters are expected to know this document, and The Church of Cove Handbook in it's entirety.
