Recruit Deveiant had been reading a book when she heard footsteps outside the barracks. At first she thought nothing of it - could have been a guardsman. Then realizing it would be proper to greet a fellow militia member, she looked through the window to see who it was - just in time to watch a humanoid figure cast a spell and vanish from sight. She'd barely caught a glimpse of the figure's badge. It could have read "UD" or "UO."
Recruit Deveiant went outside to learn what she could about the stranger, and found the grisly totem made of animal hides and littered with clothing. She was unaware at the time, due to her being new with the militia, that the proper thing to do was to make a sketch of the scene. She inspected it for a while until Recruit Kelino showed up. He cleaned up the hides, saying that it would be useful to the local tailors. Recruit Deveiant noticed that two full outfits (two shirts, two pairs of trousers, two pairs of boots, a weapon) had been laid out with the hides. When Watchman Calico Kate arrived, and told Recruit Deveiant that she should have made a sketch, Deveiant did her best to draw the scene down from memory. It looked something like this:
Upon further contemplation and meditation (which, as a mage, she is greatly excelled in), Recruit Deveiant was able to grasp a rough picture in her mind as to what the stranger looked like. He, or she, looked very much like a human skeleton. This could mean the stranger was undead, or that he was wearing armor. She drew a sketch of this figure too, to the best of her ability.
Recruit Deveiant will continue to keep an eye out for this stranger, certain to recognize him if she sees him again.
