Boss,
As you are aware, the tavern night was a success, on several fronts. First of all, the events themselves raised some coin, no doubt the tavern made a fair profit from all the drinks sold. The Baron himself attended, giving us a degree of respectability. Due to the crowd, next time a larger venue will be required. Either the square or the casino.
Firstly, the 'special' questions did not prove quite as enlightening as I'd hoped. The question regarding our mysterious attackers had a variety of answers, from the Vesper Trading Company to the Brotherhood. The general consensus is that the King's Deer and the Trinsic Rose taverns have been untroubled by this gang which I find curious. The Yewish quiz parchment states that Francis Bluth is the new owner of the King's Deer.
The Yewish attack on your own dear self is yet another goad to the Covian army to take action against Yew. I feel we should continue inviting the Yewish. Further acts of thuggery will give the Covian officers little choice but to respond with force despite their eagerness to appease them.
On the other hand, that maniac Hanse Davion's unprovoked attack on unarmed Covian Guardsmen brings us closer to war with Vesper. It seems Davion is quite incapable of attending any gathering without trying to obliterate people with magic. Depressingly predictable, I was confident the night would end with violence as soon as he stumped through the door, stubbornly refusing to find any joy in the occasion. The Scout Corporal's announcement that the Vesperians are to be no longer invited to any further Tavern nights is sure to ruffle a few Vesperian feathers. Davion will doubtless be delighted; next time he can just turn up and attack people without even pretending to be there for the festivities.
