A swift Report

When: 11:00 Am - 16:00  Friday
Where: Cove, Outside the Barracks, and around it

After a swift foot patrol around Cove and the surrounding areas, I returned from the docks to kit out and grab some shut eye in the barracks for the evening, Its been a long morning, And i'v been kept busy .. Alas .. Upon my arrival i was shocked to find a fire elemental burning the grass and shrubbery and floating around the entrance .. I quickly dispatched the odditty back to where ever it was summoned from and entered the building .. I note a young woman sitting there .. She refused to acknowledge me so i left it at that, Just as i started unbuckling my armour i heard some faint cries from one of the viewing holes in the wall, Looking out there were no more than EIGHT armed folk surrounding the barracks, I moved outside to usher them off and to my suprise i was attacked right on the steps leading up to the entrance,  One after another i was attacked, I had -no- choice but to kill each and every one of them with regret, Such a waste of life can hardly be viewed as decent ..

 I am at a loss as to their motives, Though upon discovering of a captive who was shackled and roughed up, one can assume it was greed for love of a ransom, What i found most disturbing this day is that although this poor woman whose' name was "Anna" was screaming for aid just outside and below the window of the Guardswoman i saw in the barracks, Her cries for aid went unheard .. if not outright ignored .. I assured the woman no member of the Covian army, Be they recruit or veteran would ever ignore the cries of one in need so close to town itself, Yet upon returning to check the wellbeing of the other Guardswoman inside, I found her still sat at a table, by the viewing hole.. Obviously overworked guardsmen could be excused for such Absent mindedness im sure, clearly whoever it was is suffering from some sort of stress and would be abashed if not deeply sorry for not coming to the womans aid earlier ..

The woman herself was from Minoc, and requested that the local guardsmen, if not anyone else escort her home, I checked around for any other Guardsmen who might have the time but Alas, None could be found, so i set out on the road to the north with her following behind me,  The journey has taken the better part of the afternoon as it is no short distance, There is nothing troubling to report, and nothing exceptionally dangerous on the roads side from the occasional creature or two, which were all dispatched with speed ..

The Woman was returned safely, And I myself returned shortly after back to Cove
