Where: The Goblin When: Saturday August the 21, 2010 Who: Mizuho Kazami, Goblin Manageress Hoagie Graynar, Captain Raven Cross, Guardsman Recruit Rinwen Elendiir, Guardsman Recruit Marcus Tel'var, Junior GrenadierFor one since my return from sea the Goblin where somewhat packed. Twere good to see so many faces, both new and old! With Mizuho dropping hints that I should come back to work, I got the idea to make some freelance coin right then and there. Not to mention my fine fine singing voice.
I finished my glass of Vesperian Red then took center floor, not to mention everyone in Cove where astounded and dumbfounded. Is was likley my singing voice. I picked up the tune to a little song. . . one abit depressing if ye listened to the lyrics but I figure nobody will listen and they'd jest drop coins in me cap!
So I sang!
"The Minstrel Boy to the war is gone In the ranks of death you will find him; His father's sword he hath girded on, And his wild harp slung behind him;" Land of Song!" said the warrior bard, "Tho' all the world betrays thee, One sword, at least, thy rights shall guard, One faithful harp shall praise thee!"
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain Could not bring that proud soul under; The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again, For he tore its chords asunder; And said "No chains shall sully thee, Thou soul of love and brav'ry! Thy songs were made for the pure and free, They shall never sound in slavery!"
The Minstrel Boy will return we pray When we hear the news we all will cheer it, The minstrel boy will return one day, Torn perhaps in body, not in spirit. Then may he play on his harp in peace, In a world such as Avatar intended, For all the bitterness of man must cease, And ev'ry battle must be ended.
Seems the whole crowd had not a wit of taste for good song! Though the Captain tossed in ten shilling to shut me up after only the first verse! Oh well, a coin earned is a coin saved! And I love getting paid!*Signed*Maccen Jepta Korten, Commoner of Cove{[OOC]: The song where origionally written by Sir Thomas Moore, and is called "The Minstrel Boy" the word Avatar replaces Heaven for the sake of RP}
