Raiden trudged through the Shire, the Goblin's rum still thudding through his head. It was good to be back in the Baronship after his stay abroad. It was good to be back amongst friends and loved ones once more. He'd missed them. More than he would admit, apart from his wife and son. Ryan was toddling now and talking too. Soon he'd be more advanced than Hoagie. A smirk touched his lips as he tugged a runed map book from his pack and wooshed to his estate, hidden away, far from Cove.

Sobering a little now he crept up the stairs. Careful not to wake Ryan as he checked in on him and careful not to wake Railen too. Even though certain feelings urged him to stir his wife from her slumber. Before he'd walked round to his own side of the bed he could see the wax sealed scroll placed on his writing desk. He'd been expecting fresh orders from the Baronial residence in the colonies, and so, he broke the seal and unfurled the scroll. Squinting to read it in the moonlight that poured through the bedroom window his brow furrowed a little as he nodded his way through each line of his new orders.

Placing the scroll back on his desk he leaned over to press a soft peck on Railen's forehead before making his way quietly back downstairs and outside into the workshop and armoury. Silently he unbuckled his armour, proudly wrapping the bronze plate of the Grenadiers in oil cloth along with his shadow iron mail. One chapter ends and another begins. He knew this. New armour would be waiting in Britain and he was to collect a mount from Trinsic. That part of the bargain he wasn't looking forward to.

He'd always been uneasy around horses, though his first wife was a Dragoon and had taught him how to ride... Sort of. The Baron always swore by Trinsican bloodstock too and so he tried to convince himself that all would be well as he took up his officer's staff and clutched his cape around his shoulders and stepped back out into the night, to make his way to the capital.
