She sank down the door of there now emptied room. No more whispers and soft giggles echoed off its stone cold walls. She cupped her mouth trying to hold screams back knowing the children were asleep. The screams spilled out like midnight ink. Danny screamed first, then sarah came down the stairs screaming daddy, then it was the twins.. My arms couldnt hold them all tight enough to comfort them as they cried and yelled for him.  Sarah was first to break off running down stair screaming for him " daddy, Daddy!". I scooped her up saying he isnt coming home darling. " he left me just like he did". I cupped her face " he loves you". Mommy and him just ..tears spilled down her cheeks... dont anymore. I am so sorry I failed you!.....leans head against hers.

She rubbed the burn scars on her neck and closed her eyes. She tucked them each back into bed and slowly walked to her room and stood infront of the mirror and eyes the reflection... Worthless again huh Katherine... she looked away sliding off her wedding band and layed in there cold empty bed.
