When my good friend Pickles arrived fashionably late, it was time for the real deal! The big show! Sparkles and fires and other great stuff!
First things first, I told them the importance of the Reflection Spell! Literally everyone can use that one! I can, Eason can, even the Baron can! The nice thing about this one is that it reflects the first incoming spells and sends it right back to its caster! Absolute savage!
Pickles and I then went on to teach them a bit, that even tho every arcanist and spellcaster shares a common feature, each of us has like their special trait. I for example use elven magic to increase my natural healing. Pickles is an absolute immovable object and just as hard to knock out. My mentor Bersi had such a trained Poison spell, that his poison matched that of a Silver Serpent. And Haap... Well... We don't speak about Haap. Pickles and I warned them: If they should ever encounter a Haap running at them, they should run! Run and hide and pray!
I know we did something after that, but I can't remember.
Then Pickles and I complained about all this fancy armors today and that they are polished and make our lives complicated. My apprentice volunteered to take a few shots, and I showed the rest, that thanks to their expensive armor, they can take our spells quite well. Then I showed them tho what two arcanists could do together. Pickles and I shot our strongest spells at the same time at her and she barely was able to stand. Fear us arcanists, for we still can burn you if we want to! Be our friends, guardsmen, for we will protect you!
Then, I showed them quickly how a forced spell fizzle worked to trick out another spellcaster when he or she readies a Healing spell during a combo before we went to the really fun stuff!
Pickles and I picked our team members. As she's older than me, I let her pick first. She probably didn't like that and took almost all of the people I wanted in my team - probably out of pure malice strategical awesomeness.
So it was Kobra, my apprentice, the unknown recruit and me against Pickles, Palmer, Hope and a magpie. We've sent Carolin out, as she holds no licenses for armor and we would have killed her otherwise. I knew Pickles was sending them after me first, but I was prepared for it. We set our focus instead on Palmer and she went down quickly, soon followed by Pickles who seemed rather surprised by our moves! The cuckoo went down just as fast, but we took pardon on Hope. Poor lass might have broken. The nuthatch sure did. Poor lass...
We finished in a free for all, where people fell all around us, and in the end, it was once again Pickles versus me. We bitterly battled for like, forever! I almost got her a few times, but this time, she was quick enough for her healing spell. In the end, I gifted her the victory. She really deserved it, as she became extremely powerful over the past years and made excellent progress.Ilyana Drachen, Senior Arcanist
