Thinking of returning to UO

Greetings everyone.

I played UO several years ago on Sonoma and have been considering returning. My biggest condition in considering returning was the availability of roleplaying, if indeed there even was any remaining, that I could participate in.

I was directed to your fine website by someone on the UO Vault forums, and was incredibly impressed. I love the idea of your heirarchy and starting out as a serf and living under the laws and scrutiny of the militia and nobles!

So I guess why I'm posting here, is to say that I'm interested, and get feedback on the character I'm mulling over to join the Barony of Cove.  What I'd really love to role-play is a fortune teller... She would probably keep her "skills" hidden at first, but clandestinely offering her services to other serfs seeking mystical guidance for their serfdom problems. Who knows, one day middle classmen may come to her for guidance of their businesses, ad infinitum.

There are a few possible skills I can see her using to compliment her fortunetelling and to pass as an ordinary serf during the day. I'm thinking either a potion-maker, healer or cook. Maybe a combination of these or something entirely different depending on the need of the Barony.

Roleplay is very much alive in UO still, and in Cove it is even more then alive... You will log on any time of the day to find another Covian logged on doing something.

We have events every single day of the week, and quite often interesting scenario's and campaigns.

Y'arr BoC is the best way to go if you're returning to Roleplay. I believe at the moment it is the most 'alive' guild in CoRE.

Thank you for your kind replies! I was looking over more of your website and saw "Gypsy" as a Tramp profession, so I suppose fortune teller isn't *too* far off the mark, afterall.

Well, I took the plunge and have the client downloading at home and my account all set up. Perhaps I'll see you all in-game later this week. I have yet to come up with my character's name, though, and still need to flesh out her story and personality.
