Attacked In The Mountines!

*Tom climbs up to the ledge and starts walking down the well trodden mountain path. As he walks down it he comes to a rocky area which he ignores and walks past. Just then Six hooded men jump out from behind the rocks and surround him. As they circle him he quickly takes out his mace and shield and prepears for a fight. Just when he is about to attack one of them waves a hand and he is paralysed to the spot. As he struggles to move they close in on him and start beating him. After an hour of cruel beating they steal his equipment and money and left. As they walked away the leader turned and spoke.
"This is our mountain and anyone wishing to travel on it will be punished for their insolence, I never want to see you near here again. And if you do..." The man draws out a powerful looking crossbow and taps it. "It will be the last thing you do." A few days later he was back in the mountains having ignored the warnings. As he climbed higher he started to sense something was wrong. Just then an Crossbow bolt flow from the mist and hit the mountain side. Tom started his climb down the mountain as quickly as possible and when he reached the bottom he started to run in the direction of the bolt. When he got there it was empty. He searched around and found the carcass of a recruit pinned to a tree with a spear with a note pinned to it. Tom read the note and turned white.
A few hours later Tom stumbles into the barracks and posts his resignation from the Highlander squad*

I am sorry to announce that i am resigning from the highlander squad. The reasons behind this are confidential. I am sorry for any hassle this will cause.

*A few days later a body of a recruit is found speared to a tree in a mountain glade. After a weak the authorities manage to identify the body.
His name is John Sendrich*

*Reads the notice*

*Snorts and mutters to himself*

"Knew this one was nay hardy enough for the Highlander ranks..."

*Tom walks out of the forest and onto the edge of a flat plain. From the edge of the forest he can see the whole plain. From herds grazing in the fields to horses playing on the grass land. And right in the middle there is a small village. With a sad smile he starts towards it. When he finaly gets there he finds a small barn house. After he takes a deep breath and sighs he walks up to the door and opens it. Inside is and old lady and a young women sitting at a table. When he enters they look up at him and smile with suprise untill they see the sad look on his face. He walks up to them and hands them a note stained with blood. After reading it they break down crying. Tom stays at the house for a few days helping out on the small patch of farm land. One day he is walking down the path when a man bumps into him. He looks at the man. He is wearing a hood. And on his face is a small sneer. From under his robe he quickly flashes out a cross bow so only Tom can see and procedes to the house across the road from the barn. Tom curses and walks back to the barn. A few days later he packs to leave and quickly tells the women they should leave. And leave quickly. Before he leaves he enters a small stable where he finds a Tired looking horse. He recocnises it as his fathers. After thinking a while he sadles it and rides of towards the forest*
