Who made the hole?



*Joey sat back in his chair at the Barracks of Cove, a Watchman came running through the doors. "Aieeee!" .......CRASH! Without watching where he was going, another guardsman falls victim to the hole of the Barracks, Joey sat up in his chair "I suppose we ought to fix that.." he said, before reaching into the drawer and removing some parchment, another Watchman peers into the hole and shrugs*

Your Task

Gather wood and all kinds of leather to help repair the hole in the floor, aswell as investigate the cause of the Damage.

(OOC: Be as Creative as you want, Use the clues left around the barracks to solve the mystery, each post following this will be counted as a Report towards Promotion, lets get some good stories!)

Well, reading Joey's task I decided that I wasn't best suited for cutting logs so instead I would do a small investigation of what actually happened and who (I wonder) caused the hole in the middle of the barracks.
On entering the barracks i spotted a refresh officers log on the officers table and seeing as I was investigating I helped myself to take a peek at it. All seemed fine until I reached one page the log said "Whoops! If the Commander finds out. I'm in trouble." Finds out what exactly? I have a copy of the page logs and I will stick them below.

The second and oddest thing I noticed was the stool on the table (Except the officers table) nearest the hole was broken and after doing a test I saw that if you layed the stool down on the ground as if someone had been pushed/startled and what not the person would have landed exactly where the hole in the floor is. So now we know that the hole was an accident.

For a while I didn't find anything else and I thought that was all the clues left however when entering the healers I found a new journal had been placed on the bed. Flicking through the boring pages I found one page, the last page actually which actually seemed likely to have something to do with what happened here. I've stuck a copy of the last page of the journal below.

As you can see it mentions in the copy that there was a MANS laughter so we now know that the one behind this is infact male. I couldn't really see anything around the hole on the second floor however as I went downstairs into the cells below the hole I found shards of a bottle.

Conclusion

As far as I could see there was no more clues. So far, we know that the one who caused the hole was male or at the very least there was a male present. To have caused such a hole the hole creator had to have been heavy, meaning their were either huge or wear very heavy armour. The stool on nearest the holes leg was broken so the hole may have been an accident.

Who made the hole?

So far I have gathered that the hole was made by accident. That the hole was made by someone heavy and they probably fell off the stool nearest causing the broken leg. There was a male present in the room (or so I think) or the one who made the hole was male.

After searching around the upper floors of the barracks some more I found no more clues what so ever. Infact, I was rather disappointed however when I went onto the third floor (the floor in between the cells and the entrance) I found a broken explosion bottle! Very dangerous. I now ,after a while of stringing together different scenario's have reason to believe this bottle was involved with the accident. I carried on searching and even thought of entering the barons office to search (Which I didn't) but alas nothing else was found.



Conclusion

A possibility instead of falling that the broken potion bottle was thrown as some form of joke at the floor, someone who was sitting in the stool with the broken leg fell from surprise and went straight through.
