* Dyril didst find himself stumbling back to his lean-to. the Goblin had been empty and that was good, twas hard enough to convince the young maid to gie 'em the drink he wanted. He quickly fell onto the straw and small pebbles that made his bed and was quickly asleep. At some point in the night he was awakened most easily by a whisper on the wind.... a whisper that rose to a wail of pain and horror, screaming his name and rauckus accusations. Dyril drug himself up and trudged towards these voices, voices comming off the Covian Bay. "You sit by and watch!!" "Damn you and your Avatar!!" came the voices and many other less coherent things. "No!! It discusts me what they have done!" he cried into the night. "I am no man of Avatar! A thousand curses on him and his clergy!"

Dyrils cries where unheeded by these voices and they continued to accuse him until he reached the Bay, at which time they stopped... all sound died away except the sound of waves lapping the shoreline. The moon was beautiful as it reflected off the bay. He marveled at the sight of such beauty. As he gazed out onto the bay a great wave of cold wound around him liek serpents, crawling up his legs, twisting around his body rooting him in place. He paniced, jerking this way and that  but to no avail. The serpents... he could see through them. No that must be wrong...HE WAS SEEING THROUGH THEM!!  "I'm hallucinating!! this is a nightmare!! he screamed into the night as the serpents twisted pinning his arms to his sides.

It was then that a figure a great serpent slithered out of the bay, becoming a gorgeous woman, clothed in only the waters of the bay. She walked right up to him running one hand over his head and through hi long hair. A smile was on her lips, lips that were jsut slightly parted by fangs.... FANG!! Dyril would have surly swooned had she not spoke words of comfort to him, some spell no doubt. She spoke with a voice that sounded like many voices at once but it soon collesed into one cohernt voice washing over him soothing hsi fears. "Dyril, sweet Dyril. Fear not, for you have been chosen. All your hopes and dreams dashed, destroyed to prepare you for the work you must do." This creature moved into him, embracing and cradleing him as though they were lovers, a kiss upon his lips she did plant. "Dyril the serpent has its fangs, this is well and good, but no venom. Tonight you shall become the venom, tonight you become the messenger. Deliver my message and your pain shall end, your spirit shall rezide with ME forever more." Her left hand cradled the back of his head tilting it to the side ever so slightly, her other moving down his back "My Dyril, you do not know how blessed you are" She smiled, and so did he. She moved in as if to kiss him and he was glad and willing to accept her kiss, his lips puckering as he tried to lean in closer. As she came forward she gripped him tight and her fangs sank into his neck, a venom rushing into his veins. He tried to cry out, THE PAIN!

Dyril awoke in his lean-to, sweating profusly. His neck ached and he was certainly with fever. Remebering his ngihtmare he grabbed at his neck. There were no marks to show that he'd really been bitten. But the words rang in his head still. "You are the venom, my messenger." As he sat there thinking on his dream an idea crept into his mind and he spoke as though speaking to another person. "I have a plan, those fools in the church shall learn. I will teach them and the complasant Covian citezenry. I shall deliver your message, O' Queen. The church will burn, and all shall hear. I swear it!"

Loved it, can't help feel that it's connected to the ESF story.
