Marcus: Guardsman RecruitWith increasing threats to Covian security, I thought it would be a wise decision to observe the training process of the finest guardsmen within the Covian army; the Grenadiers. A fine turn out was present, and corporal Raiden quickly got under way explaining the tasks to the men.
It seemed some sort of formation tish-tosh was in order, and at first the men worked on assembling the Covian Grenadier square. The Covian Grenadier square is supposed withstand the attack of any assailants on the battlefield, no matter how numerous, or how sneaky and vile!
Feeling quite safe inside the Covian square, the corporal advised them to always be alert for any attack. Of course, most considered themselves always alert and ready for any threat anyway.. but complacency was soon exposed!
It seems the dastardly scouts had been enlisted into this grand deception and leapt from the shadows, striking down many a proud Grenadier as the sneak attack caught many off guard! The square was soon picked apart by the green clad parasites, and the order to cease was given. This certainly was an eye-opener and a quick kick to the nether regions for Grenadier pride, but being Grenadiers, we kept our chin up, and ready ourselves for another instance!
Charged with righteous indignation, the second attack from the skulking scouts was easily batted away by Grenadier excellence (and of course, a liberal portion of Baron power) and the Covian square held firm, as the "charging square" formation was employed, allowing us to easily give that goblin no-one particularly likes a good kicking!
To round off the training completely, a free-for-all was held; but the bounds of Grenadier honour meant that the scouts were dispatched first, many of them pounded straight into the field itself as the Grenadiers mashed away! The eventual victor of the glorified brawl being sergeant Valentine - as it should be!
It seems overall that perhaps some work is required to ensure the combat readiness of the Grenadiers, but they once against proved when alert there is no great force in Sosaria!
Signed neatly,
Octiovus Von Richter.
