Scout Hunt to Shame

Led by:
Mela Arkay, Scout Sergeant.

Attending Scouts:
Dalamar, Regular Scout.
Garand, Junior Scout.
Kelly, Regular Scout.

Aim: To travel to Shame and gather as much gold for the Scout fund piles as possible. Another aim was to gain experience in how to lead an army with one torch through the dark.

We set out to Shame from Cove Barracks in a set of our scout disguises. The disguise we used for this hunt was a black hood, a black cloak and a black doublet. The black was obviously to disguise us in the place where we were. People wearing yellow are blatantly easier to see than people wearing black, even in the dark. Mela led us into the dark of the cave. Garand was the torch holder and we all did our best to keep up and stay in the light of the torch. We struck down many earth elementals. Dalamar kept stealing “Mela’s Gems”, which was fussed over for a considerable amount of time.

After the earth elementals, there came copper elementals and other kinds of elemental beasts. We took them down and found ourselves in a different sort of room, full of books. We raided it for anything useful or of any interest. There was nothing apart from spike traps that kept digging into our feet rather unpleasantly. Mela asked all of us in turn to take lead of this hunt every few minutes, so all of us gained more skills of wandering around in the dark.

Altogether on this hunt, we collected around sixteen thousand gold coins to go towards keeping the Light Infantry up and running accordingly.

My ultimate aim is to nag someone to the brink of total blindness and hate that they kill me.

John Dell:
It's for me like for you and pies; if one is staring you in the face you just can't leave it alone.
