Such A World
There are no heroes anymore
Only the dead and the dieing.
Apathy and blindness controls us.
The lack of emotion forces us to
Acts of insufferable violence.
The blindness keeps us from seeing
The end of this pathetic road.
The multi-named God looks down,
Only He sees, only He feels.
His tears fall on our heads daily.
His anger claps across the skies.
Barley drowned by the sounds of the cannonade.
Blood in the sand, Blood in the streets,
Blood in the classrooms, and Blood in the hallowed places.
This world is now rich of stain,
Rich of chaos,Rich with its own Damnation.
Lucifer awaits open armed in Hell,
His palace doors flung wide for our arrival.
He cries too, He cries for so many souls
That the fires of Hell are quenched.
He casts his eyes up to Him and ask,
"Who O'God do so many souls flood my realm?
Why deliver me this charge?
Were is the light that once was in the world?
O' Lord, if only I never had fallen,
This world would be right.
Am I, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, the last to feel remorse?"
And God said unto him, "No you are not the last, Nor the only one.
I feel remorse for creating such a people on such a world."
Notes: Wrote this one just after the war started, before I joined the military. Definitely anti-war, pro-soldier/pro-people. I happen to be an Atheist and am no Worshiper of Lucifer. I've been told the first Half is great and marvelous, then everyone says the second half is just not good, that it sounds physco and that I'm a Satanist. I think the fact I suggest that we are all going to "Hell" imposes on their sensabilities.
