What about to change the prerequisites even for the ooc board to registered users only ?

SMF provides an option that each new account registration request has to be approved by site admin.
Probably the only way to stop this, but we'll need to hire a person to check if the person requesting registration is actually a person and not some stinky bot.

Well I have already suggested having a admin approval only but Octi doesn't want that as it would perhaps have people not sign up or something.

It's possible to do sth like that:

 - user registers his account and activates it. (like usually)
 - upon registration he is added to some group, say "New member" - without any permissions to post anything
 - someone of admins/command checks if he's not a bot and grants him required permissions.

This way anyone can register their accounts freely, and won't spam our boards before admins will ban him.

Sounds like an option, however, we'd miss out on alot of porn.
So I say things are just great the way they are!
(unless certain moderators - like John - go and delete that porn)

Well I put it to member approval. So we wont see any more bots unless an admin approves one by mistake.
