The open day was marred by many comings and goings of guardsmen
(if i missed ye of the list sign below) but a Grenadier never says die... Err... Ahem!
On with the report!
Loyalty: A Grenadier's loyalty to the Baron is unquestionable! They are his Household troops and personal bodyguard. The Grenadiers it is said share a special bond with the Baron, often being sent on secret errands to do his bidding.
Brotherhood: The Grenadiers share a unique brotherhood. Each one knows his fellows would lay down their lives for the Baron or a brother Grenadier. An attack on a Grenadier is treated as an attack on the Baron himself and is harshly dealt with.
Discipline: Not just on the parade ground but on the battlefield too! Grenadiers never leave formation and form the rock on which the army can rely. The Baron's Own are sticklers for discipline, harsh but fair and always willing to offer a helping hand or advice to the lower ranks.
Ability To Fight: Grenadiers are skilled with their weapon of choice and are often veterans of numerous campaigns. A Grenadier's combat prowess is tested to the limit by the passing of
"trials" to gain entry to the squad.
As a special treat for the guardsmen who attended I offered them the chance to test out some explosives which the Grenadiers are famed for using.
Recruit Carcer seemed to be fairly proficient with both conflag and explosive potions. However the same could not be said for the Arkays!
