Shadows in the Night

The Night had fallen. It was quiet inside the church. Distant sound of people laughing could be heard from the Barracks. I was praying inside the church when I heard the doors open. I did not raise my head before I saw a man dressed in dark robes infront of me. My new mentor, Father Duncan Calder stood there..

Our discussion came to a halt when one door to the church was opened slowly. We both turned towards the door, but nothing could be seen there. Father Calder strode to the door and closed it wondering if it had been the wind which opened it. We continued our discussion on several important things when I noticed a shadow emerge behind the benches...

I took few steps back and saw the shadow emerge to a masked person who pulled Father Calder close to him and pushed a dagger to his throat. Everything happened fast. The villain acted rather calm, but so did Father Calder though he had a dagger on his throat.

We let him know that the act he was commiting would be his end. He ignored and demanded to have the book, Malleus Maleficarum! I recall that he insisted that he would get the Templi books from the church. Discarding his wishes Father Calder slipped from the mans grip and the villain plunged after him. Father Calders energybolt hit the villain before he could reach him. I soon joined hitting the villain with another energybolt. He started to run, but fell down by the doors when two explotions hit him...

We were standing more outside than inside the church the villain lying there. There were already sounds of running guards to be heard behind the corner. "Guards!" - we yelled.

The villain was moved to the the cells to wait the arrival of Father Godfrey. Soon after his visit it was ordered that he was to be seriously punished and questioned. I remained during his whole torture...I remember that it was cruel...and through..and just!
