Delferium slowly and cautiously eased out of his crouched battle stance.  A man rose, clad in dark dragon skin armor wielding a bloody scythe in one hand, a torch in the other. He wafted the torch,  illuminating the surrounding area. He waited for an attack, watching carefully out of the small slit in his hood. There was no retaliation, they were dead, he had killed them all. Every last one of them...  'Del' looked at the bodies around him, some human, some not. His job had been completed, vengeance had been achieved. One man had single handedly destroyed the force which brought end to his comrades from Haven, his mentor..

The power of vengeance and fury were unknown to him before, how could two emotions bring down so many foes..? As a child he was taught that revenge lead to Chaos, then death.  Del shook his head, this was justified and he knew it, these heartless beasts had slaughtered his mentor and thirteen of Haven's best soldiers. This was the least he could do, It had to be

He pushed his thoughts aside and glanced at the torch, then the bodies stacking up. "No" he said, he would not give them the final dignity of burning their corpses. Instead he'd send a messenger to Haven, and they'd in turn form a recovery team to salvage what goods they could from the place. Then they'd leave the bodies to rot.

And so Delferium would return to Cove. However, he'd never be the same man he used to be. Vengeance and hatred still lurked deep in his soul and they'd never diminish...Or.. Would they?
