This 'eve, I was tipped off by Geralt Swift to come to th' Casino concerning tonight's attack. I gestured for the scouts to follow me in an' sure enough Melancton, the leader of the Collegium was there. We arrested 'im an' took him to the cells.

Garand and I began interrogating' him. E' wouldn't talk, in fact, e' even denied knowin' about th' attacks.  The fool wouldn't say a word so we began to club 'im.  By now, Kal had left and Keres was here. He helped to break his legs so he couldn't sneak outta the cells like last time. Hot coals were also dumped on his lap, followed by a liberal dose of "Heater Shield Smack" to his face. We even clubbed his manleh parts. Through all this the man didn't even flinch! This lead us to believe that not only is he completely resistant to all pain whatsoever but that he is also A WOMAN.

We made an effort to find some form of weakness. Psychological warfare was used alongside "The Buttons technique". However, all these tricks of the trade brought him no closer to talking than anything else we'd tried. At one point we deduced he didn't like the site of his own blood, but then he bit off his own finger...

At this point we had not a clue what to do with him. We beat him and talked to him excessively, Keres even played the flute in front of him! Then all of a sudden he lunged from his chair and made a break for the door, but he was slower than an injured walrus. And that's when he died.. Apparently his bottling up his pain led to him explodin' on th' inside.

After we were sure he was dead, we dragged his corpse off to the woods. But not before taking his gold for the coffers, just as we would for any slain foe!

The small soulstone necklace flickered for a moment, then lit up altogether. Its purplish colour were almost as deep as the night surrounding the corpse. A few moments, after the guardsmen, his killers, had departed, a shadow broke off from the others. Lazarus, agent of the Strikeforce of the Collegium, quickly made his way towards the body on the ground. Hastily lifting him up, and tying him to the horse he brought along, he set off for the moongate in Minoc

Odenetheus woke up. All he could see was that face, and he sensed the wonderful, sweet smell of... What, exactly? He didn't remember. He felt annoyed. After looking at himself once, he remembered something about dying. 'Hah! Good thing I kept that necklace, eh?', he thought to himself.

"Wake up, child. You need sustenance to stay awake." The voice was familiar, but he didn't quite remember it. Nevertheless, he knew it was speaking the truth. What kind of sustenance, though? He felt repulsed by the thought of normal foods.

Then he saw him; the small boy, naked, cowering in the corner of the room. Quite cute, looked to be about fifteen, but more importantly, he could smell the vitality flowing through the boy's veins; the vitality soon to be his. Unsteadily getting up, he heard that voice again, and finally was able to associate it with someone. Dulcinea, his representative. Hadn't she mentioned being a vampire at some point? As he pondered this, he also came to the conclusion that this was, at the very best, better than to be reanimated as a mindless skeleton

Quickly following the instructions given, he soon realised what he had done. He didn't care, however. It had just been a slave.

*Another Letter for the Commander*

Commander Morana,

This evening I was approached by a woman I hired to locate the headquarters of the Collegium some weeks ago - their method of operation matching the one mentioned by witnesses of my sister's kidnapping, leading me to suspect their involvement - with news of some success in her mission.

She followed a member of the Collegium through a moongate, arriving in a sandy area of Malas (I've asked the Scout Corporal to pinpoint the exact location) and witnessed something rather disturbing. On the steps of the building was the corpse of the recently slain Melancton, and nearby someone known to my contact to be a Vampyre. According to the account given by this contact, this Vampyre proceded to reanimate Melancton.

We must assume that Melancton is "alive", exponentially more powerful than before, and seeking revenge on those that betrayed him and those that killed him.

P.S.: My contact, Lacrima, has requested the protection of the Grenadiers. I'll leave it to you to decide whether we extend her this protection or not.

I've already despatched orders to the Scouts to seek out and map the Collegium's secrect buildings but this news is disturbing indeed.

The Collegium seeks to bring terror to Cove, waging war on innocents and practising dark arts. They are enemies of Cove and enemies of Avatar. Once I have been debriefed by our Scout Corporal we shall strike and end this vile threat to our people once and for all.
