A patrol of Altmere was arranged after a citizen reported being attacked by brigands along the road. Upon arriving at the Altmere Outpost we were caught off guard by a crate triggered to explode. The explosion injured Officer Cadet Pickles very badly and left her defenseless on the ground. Soon a man came from the treeline holding a crossbow attempting to force me to my knees. I refused and he threatened to shoot Pickles in her injured state. Undeterred I stepped in front of her making myself the only available target for him.
The Ambusher continued to threaten her and with that I lost my temper and charged the man. I wrestled him to the ground and managed to disarm him of his bow, Though I took a bolt in the shoulder for my trouble. After struggling with him he pulled a knife on me to which I rolled away to avoid being stabbed. He took this opportunity to apprehend Pickles and threatened her life if I did not hand over my uniform to him. Having the choice of her life or my uniform I handed my sash, Kilt, and cap to him. He soon left and I was able to carry Pickles back to the town healers to be looked at.
Pickles wounds were pretty bad and after some treatment she was able to get some rest. I will be staying with her over the night to keep an eye on her status. it is with my recommendation that all Officers be on guard for unfamiliar soldiers. As their only goal with a uniform would be infiltration. With that I ask that a list be made up of all current soldiers that can be double checked by others in case of any wrong doing
